For those not aware, this song was written in response to Lloyd Cole’s song “Are you Ready to be Heart Broken?”….from the great album “Rattlesnakes”. You can sample it here on You Tube….
Still can't believe someone wrote this lyric. And to this day, "Rattlesnakes" still sounds spectacular. Peace, love and thanks to everyone who had any piece of any of this.
i'll be honest, i looked up "indie rock" and clicked on the most indie looking thumbnail this was staring back at me and i'm glad i clicked, really nice track xxx

Was listening to Rattlesnakes again tonight and sounds as fresh as it did in 84. Can definitely see influence of Lloyd on later Glasgow indies like Belle and Sebastian and Camera Obscura.
He is. He said this of it: "That’s really one of the nicest things that’s happened to me. Their management sent it to me before the album came out, just to make sure that I wasn’t in any way negative about it. I can hardly imagine how anybody could feel bad about it. A couple of years later, I wrote to them and said, 'Do you have an instrumental mix of that? Could I have a copy?', so they sent me one. When I’m feeling in a particularly chirpy mood, sometimes I go on stage to that. Pointing my finger like a standup comedian: here he is!"
Have you heard the new album its awful. Old stuff was their best period! They were at their prime here. No other band sounds like this today. I'm so grateful we have the old CO albums.
Garbage is as garbage does. They were so worried about whether they could, they never stopped to wonder if they should. Generic forgettable instrumentals with shoehorned and aimless vocal melodies. It’s always cool to have a cool idea for a song but it’s even cooler when it actually works out that way.
