Hey George. They are handy. Ive been using an old iphone in the shack to capture odd QSO's but the phone is very close to the radio so hitting the video start button is fiddly. Been dead easy with this and no crappy ad ridden App to install.
Thank you for the video. It may seem overly simple, but I didn't remember how I paired my shutter remote with my previous phone and couldn't get it to work with my new one. Duh! Thanks for the refresher, it worked with the Uegogo remote that came with my tripod. 😀 Fred in the Shed, you're the GOAT!
Secret Squirrel 🤣😂🤣😂 I wonder if his name is Cyril😊. You should put those Amazon Affiliate links to any of these little Handy Gadgets that you find Fred, you deserve to try make a few pennies from all the efforts your putting in making the vids. 👍👍👍
I suppose this is only good for the length of time you have the screen "on" for? What I mean is, If you placed it in your shed again and waited for 5 minutes, the screen turned off, it wouldn't work, right?
I just found this on Canadian Amazon....The Camkix Bluetooth Remote Shutter can wake your phone but it cannot activate your camera from a locked or asleep iPhone. You need to manually turn on your camera and set it to take photo or video.
This video was very helpful. If I wanted to open an app like Instagram or Facebook to take a photo, are you saying it won’t take the photo unless I use the official camera app? I hope i didn’t misunderstand.
Hi Fred!....a bit delayed (work/home balance), but I've just got the chance to test it myself and, I must say, it's brilliant with Android too in all camera/video settings, so it's been a great purchase chap!
Do you have to have the phone on camera or video to work. Dosent seem to work unless you have it on camera or video Cant you click.it from a distant and start it , My phone has a lockon it after 30 sec, How do you take pics and videos with out having it already on camera or video
@@CB-RADIO-UK the reason it does that is because if voice control is turned on, when you are in the camera the command “turn volume down” will activate the shutter release. Outside of camera, that command will do what it says. Also in camera volume control switch will activate shutter release also. As Lenin said “everything is connected to everything else”.
Been trying to pair mine for 20 minutes. The iphone recognised it but declined to pair with it. After turning Bluetooth off and on again, it ceased to recognise it.... Disappointing so far.....
@@CB-RADIO-UK I think so.... After 2 hours of trying to pair it, during which it several times became unrecognisable to my phone, plus even resetting my network settings, it just refused to pair. It's on it's way back to Amazon as we speak. I went back to my old Mooni remote shutter, which I thought had died but a new battery brought it back to life again and it paired immediately. Still the best - even thought you can't buy them any more.....
@@CB-RADIO-UK Just trying to pair one with my iphone now, unfortunately my phone cant find it, been trying for an hour now, still no joy. so think it will be going back
