Can you give one of my channels a shoutout if you do, the name is Around the Boulevard. Your videos have actually helped us a lot I have used suggestions from your vids like lighting and cheap but good cameras. We would really appreciate it if you gave us a shout out cause we could really use the support
Richard_AKL Richard_AKL I am pretty sure it is a “Neewer” on camera light. I saw it on the best budget light video. $23.00 without battery on Amazon and Ebay
Cameras, lighting, microphone etc is definitely quite intimidating to a beginner. I've tried to start by spending as little as possible, but there's so many good practical ideas here, it probably takes a little investment to film quality content.
thank you! i like that you get right down to it and don't include unnecessary banter. easy to understand, great and quick examples for the not-so-savvy tech person such as myself. now that schools are closed and we are teaching from home, i am want to up my video game. well, start my video game :)
Bought the mic, light, and phone holder and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Thank you Sean for these recommendations. They definitely give my videos a nice quality look to it!
One problem is I don't want something so noticeable when doing walking video. Problem with my smart phone is it doesn't record the way I want it to. It kind of crops the video so you don't get full picture when recording. Kind of makes video smaller. My only video is an example of that. Update: Aprently if I hold the phone upwards it doesn't record wide. If I hold the phone side ways and record it works very good 👍
It could be this one in Amazon VILTROX VL-162T CRI95+ LED Video Light, Portable Camera Photo Light Panel Dimmable for DSLR Camera Camcorder with Battery, Charger, High Brightness, 3300K-5600K Bi-Color, White Filter and LCD Display
I found it: www.amazon.com/Neewer-Dimmable-Cameras-Battery-Included/dp/B06XDFGDCX/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=neewer+light&qid=1587670646&s=electronics&sr=1-8 It is $23.99, or $45.99 if you want to include the battery for non corded use.
I have watched you and two others for guidance as I start my YT channel journey! And thanks to your awesome suggestions I am at 535 subs in 6 weeks!! Thanks for helping us newbies!!!
@@gshsgtfhshgst3931 LOL - I forgot I commented on this! Wow - brings back memories! Yes, I was very lucky in the beginning because of the fact that I was really niched down and also got in on a lot of collaborations very early. :)
@@gshsgtfhshgst3931 It definitely does take a long time for some people, but it is also definitely possible! I just celebrated my one-year RU-vid anniversary and I'm at 9400 now. I watched Think Media and Sunny Lenarduzzi and took all their advice. You DEFINITELY have to put in a lot of hard work to make it work though.
Jordan it is so cool the amount of accessories they make for smart phones now! I have been using my smart phone for 5 years now and I just keep looking for better accessories to help me with my recording of footage!
Thank you so much. This was a massive help. As my channel that is one that has just gotten started this is going to help out so much especially with audio. Again, thank you.
I used something similar to film a facility tour at work. A good point to add too is that as you build, even if you have a $2000 sometimes its not the best gear for the shoot. We chose phone over the 70D because we needed to work lite and fast so the best option was a phone. Great set up.
This is more a question than comment! Is it possible for me to purchase a ring light without tripod for I already own a tripod for holding tablet/cell phone?
Thanks so much Sean. I’ve been getting feedback from viewers reporting my light and sound is good but sometimes distracting. I’m following your suggestions! Please thinking of us "newbie RU-vidrs!"
Thanks bro...I wanted to start creating more content but didnt have a good camera. U gave me confidence to jump in with my phone jus increased the quality💯
This was sooo helpful!!! Thank you so much! I love your channel it really helps me with my channel Ruby’s reality. It would be soo cool if you could check it out!
I am an watercolor artist and my camera is always pointing straight down. I tried a Rode Lavallière Go mic but that made my brush sound like a loud scraping on the paper and when I rinsed the brush it was so loud it was like a dob drinking water. I think a straight shot mic would be best but what can I mount it on so it points towards me and not towards the paper and paint. I have listened to a TON of videos and no one addresses this problem.
His is a great video, I go the video rig, I’ll be getting the mic 🎤 and light 💡 soon. I got a Boya mic though. Wish the best to everyone creating content for RU-vid !! 🔥
This is what I found on Amazon: Neewer on Camera Video Light Photo Dimmable 176 LED Panel with 1/4" Thread for Canon, Nikon, Sony and Other DSLR Cameras, 5600K
One of my favorite accessories for creating content is my Shure Motiv MV88 it is not cheap but worth getting cause the sound quality is ten times better than using the built in mic on my phone!
Think Media I have also added a hand held mic with the tascam DR-10x plug in linear mic just to make sure if i am doing an interview that i get the most and best sound!
Me: *Watches this video on 144p* Me: This is gonna look really bad because I put it at a low pixel rate. The video: HA HA OUR CONTENT IS SO GREAT THAT THIS IS STILL CRYSTAL CLEAR!
Sean, love your content man. One thing I notice a lot with the items you recommend from Amazon, is that they're not available for shipping to New Zealand and probably some other countries around the world. Would be awesome if you did a video on some of these things with only items that ship globally from Amazon. Keep up the great work!
That's why on my videos I have started replacing Amazon links with Aliexpress links. Most of the products are exactly the same, cheaper and Ali offer worldwide shipping.
What is the light on the universal tripod you said Neewar do you have a link for that?

I don’t always want everything to be “cheap” in all of my set ups. Sometimes I want to purchase items that are worth the buy. Trying to build my channel and get lasting equipment. Do you guys have videos on mid level YouTubing equipment and lighting? Not looking to break the bank in every area, but sometimes like lighting and monitors etc I want to try to get best quality over “cheapest”
Hi! I am new to VRA ! I am planning on doing workout videos sometimes on my channel, I live in a tiny studio, bedroom size place and I have one spot where I can set up my tripod for me to have a nice background and for me to be seen in full size, but I feel like I'm too far..does it make sense? what do you suggest? I will use a microphone though. Thanks for the input!
Great Job ! Please look into DREAMGRIP Evolution 2020 PRO Universal Modular Transformable Rig System for Any Smartphone, Action and DSLR Cameras. Renewed Basic Phone Video Kit for Vlogging, RU-vidrs, Journalists or Movie-Makers and how they work with heavy lences ,...?
I'm a New RU-vidr and my videos are ok😕haven't gotten the hang of it. I do have 139 true subscribers and hopefully i will have thousands.I wish everyone here the best of luck with your channels and i hope we all can earn some extra income. I love RU-vid.I hope my channel will be successful in the near future😊God Bless and stay safe everyone
Can you recommend a smartphone rig that can hold a THICKER battery profile smartphone? I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with a thicker EXTENDED-LIFE battery that came with a deeper phone back, to house the thicker battery pack, making my phone thicker than the original thin battery profile. Consequently, the "ULANZI U Rig Pro Smartphone Video Rig, Filmmaking Case" does NOT accommodate holding a phone with a THICKER DEPTH than the original thin battery profile.
Nice review, the light is this one. Neewer Dimmable 176 LED Video Light 5600K on Camera Light Panel with 2600mAh Battery and USB Charger for Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic, Sony, and Other Digital SLR Cameras for Photography
How did you mount the TAKSTAR SGC-598 Interview Shotgun Microphone onto the ULANZI U Rig Pro Smartphone Video Rig? I bought both products you have in the video. Both products look identical, however, my TAKSTAR SGC-598 Interview Shotgun Microphone's mount just will not fit into the ULANZI rigs slot. It is too big. Any advice would be extremely helpful. Thank You
I've just started a RU-vid channel last month to provide MMA video lesson, martial art techniques, tips, tricks and tutotials inspired by #fighttips shane fazen. But im a boy with little income and dumb about gadgets, internet and technologies. Im just depressed 🙂
Great video. Just a question…in our channel we make video tour as well as walking tour. In this latter case we use an iPhone 11 Pro but the audio quality is not great. Do you recommend the shotgun mic you showed in the video for recording ambient audio during the walking tour? Or it just works well for voice recording? Thanks for answering.
Don't have a 4k camera get a Moto G stylus 4 or 5 G they have a 48 megapixel HRD lens with 4k video capture with 60 Frames Per Second. This way you save thousands. The price for a 4g Stylus is 199.99
Thank you man! I'm a new RU-vidr going on my 3rd week! Your alls videos have been and are going to be a big help a long my crazy Journey on this platform.
