This looks way better than any entry level logitech or thrustmaster product. Still wishing they'd release a proper f1 wheel though like Moza but with Cammus pricing
right even fanatec drop the price on there bundle to 399 now 5mn bmw wheel with pedals too i like the conpanies fighting give us customers better prices
Still very interested in the C5 as a replacement for my CSL DD, specially since I've heard from some that it's strength feels closer to that of the 8nm version of the CSL, would be great to be able to save a lil money on the wheelbase to put the rest of my budget towards the LC100 pedals, but sadly the shipping really kills the whole thing. They really need some state side stock.
The actual price ends up being 410 thanks to shipping (80 shipping). Fanatec on the other hand is 420 (20 shipping). Not adding tax since its different everywhere. From there its 10 dollars in difference and both got ups and downs. Fanatec got a bigger wheel with the ability to upgrade it or even swap it, and better pedals. Cammus' peak nm is higher by 2 and has an included desk mount. I personally prefer the bigger wheel/ability to upgrade the wheel down the road.
Shipping can be a killer...the way I look at the C5 is it's the best possible travel setup that can also be used for home. So if you travel for work, the c5 has value past the point of upgrading.
We are looking at putting a couple of sim rigs together for youth at our church, do you think that the d shaped wheel is going to be a big problem drifting? Wish they did a full round version, else this with the lc100 pedals would be a no brainer for us
There are many drifting with this wheel with no major issues. There is a round wheel version coming at some point but no date is set. This bundle comes with pedals although they are nothing compared to the LC100's I just bought that pedal set and it feels amazing.
@@DouglasThompson thank you bro, wasn't expecting a reply so quick. Yeah I've seen a few reviews, only recently found your channel after looking for cammus reviews. I think for what we want the pedals with the bundle are not up to the job, but that wheel with a set of the lc100 would still cost less here in the UK than a CSL DD with a loadcell. We need the clutch. Might get the youth to design and 3d print a sequential shift and handbrake it would be good learning for them. I fancy the 15nm for my own rig but the church is limited budget and space.
Can't wait to see them youth pastors drifting in their church bus. Also, I emailed Cammus and they said cammus C5 will arrive to US warehouses in 1-2 months so you dont have to order directly from China and pay the $100+ shipping
@@kentreyes7379 funny you should say that I'm modifying my BMW for drift, and we are praying for a mini bus so we can take the youth with us to races, and hopefully one day get them to build their one car. The life skills we can teach them through drifting without them even realising it. Hopefully if the project goes well we can help them find work we they leave school
Should i get this instead of the r5? ive been thinking about getting a dd for a while now but i dont want to spend a fortune, so im either thinking this or r5
Cammus has a less expensive approach. The only thing you need to be aware of is that it is not easy to switch out the wheel rim but if you don't see yourself switching out wheels often the C5 will do you well.
You need to know that the shipping option(only one option, Air from China, no other options are offered) is hideously expensive. This is being reported all over the web at this point. An example, the one I can give simply because I was ordering this bundle on launch day last week, is this: I went for the bundle with the pedals and added the table clamp in case I had issues with mounting on my cheap stand. All together it was costing me $329.00US. Sounds like a great deal, eh? Then I put in my shipping address which is in NYC, NY, USA. The only option available, as noted above, was Air from China. Mind you, this is bog standard shipping, not express in any way, and it stated from between 12-20 days for delivery. The price was an astonishing $114.00US..!! This brought the cost up so much that the deal was now a dud. I instead ordered the Fanatec bundle with the option of upgrading it from pedals to wheels to power down the road. That alone makes it a better deal than this, but all together, shipping from California, US to New York, US was only $65.00 more than this cost all told. No brainer, that. Just thought you should know the real cost of doing business with CAMMUS. It really is a pity, I thought they were going to change the game as you , and many others, did. Nope.
They are constantly working on getting distribution centers set up. As an example I help them sell gear here in the United States. If you follow them on Facebook and other social media you will notice like 3 or so new distributors get added every week. They will get better shipping options as time goes on. :)
@@DouglasThompson I genuinely hope so, I want to see them succeed. They lost my business but I'm only one person, there are many more out there that have seen the great reviews and would love to buy it.
They are always improving, that's why I like them so much. Thier LP8 is amazing, I'm about to do the full review on it as I feel I have tested it for long enough.
@@DouglasThompson Sounds good. I've been following them since their first release, I liked the design and was hooked. I'm almost sorry I got the Fanatec to be honest, but the feeling of getting ripped off put me off to CAMMUS. I look forward to your review 😊
I wouldn't say inferior, they are better built and cheaper I think off the top of my head. They are an extra 50 dollars added to the C5 to make the bundle. :)
The fact you can't add a 3rd pedal might make them a bit less practical but no potentiometers and the ability to take 4 screws out and travel with it makes them a pretty cool option. As I said in the video, these are not an upgrade for someone that already has a setup these are intended for new users or someone that travels often.
I look and reached out to there shenzhen company on why they dont sell to Hong Kong just over the border of South China border. Gonna wait on reviews months from now and see how it holds up. So fasr seems like heat and motornoise.
Lol this wheel is a joke compared to fanatec. You can’t even switch wheels. The pedals are worst the G29 pedals. Anybody looking to get into sim racing go with Fanatec DD Pro as it works on PC and consoles. Get the GT3 McLaren wheel. It’s a little more but it’s worth it and you won’t have to upgrade again unless you want to.
This is still a new product. 1,2 yrs down the road? We'll see. Yes we know your a Fanetec fan boy so I'm sure we can throw "objective opinion" right out the window...
@@trancepilot5962 it’s not about being a fanatec fanboy Moza is great as well it’s just PC only. Fanatec has an already established eco system and has been around forever so you know exactly what your getting and that goes for issues included. Look at this way someone goes buys this realized it wasn’t what they were looking for now they got to get something else and sell this thing on private sale and lose some money. In the end who I’m a nobody just giving an opinion and I too once upon a time was looking for advice on which DD to choose tried a few things settled on Fanatec and I’m happy. Have a nice day.
for $329. + shipping $114 this wheel was intended to compete with those in that price range. yes! there's no console support! (for now). but, as far as the pedals. yes, their not great! but the set that comes with the fanatec csl dd pedals are not very well built. beside the fact you spent $400 more. also you can always upgrade the pedals! cammus LC100 pedals are $150 = shipping $52. so, i'm at $625 with shipping (yes very expensive shipping!) AND IM STILL UNDER YOUR $800 PRICE TAG. with a better force feedback wheel and pedals on pc
Don't forget that the c5 is not the only option. They have 8nm and 15nm options too which also seem to be cheaper than fanatic and postage costs are coming down now with each additional distributor added. I am personally looking at getting the c5 at the moment, unsure if I want to go with the bundle as a sim beginner or if I should get the ls100 instead. Depends on my brothers I suppose
