In Deer Vision, I also added a bit of a blur since Deer are said to not have as sharp of vision as we do.

Good video. I thoroughly enjoy the comparison videos as well as the matrix. I have always enjoyed comparing and contrasting camo patterns. My wife said I buy camo and swap it like a lady does shoes haha! I deer and turkey hunt southern Illinois and have used a variety of camo patterns at different times of the year...I only wish I had taken pictures of my setups. I remember the aggravation and looks I received when I broke the RealTree/Mossy Oak mold with Kryptek. It was a good opportunity to explain camo patterns that conceal vs those that break up your outline. This was some 10 years(ish) ago now. So far, I've used various MO and RT patterns as well as a couple Kryptek patterns and ASAT. I love to hunt and I just enjoy sampling camo patterns. That is why I greatly enjoy your videos. Great podcast!

@@CamoMatrix The ASAT was pretty good. I especially loved it in a tree stand during the late season. I have since sold it however as I didn't like the cut of the coat that I had in it and I wasn't an overly huge fan of how the insulated bibs were. They had Velcro on the legs and were not very agreeable with the boots I wear. Overall though, the pattern was fantastic, despite the aggravation I received from wearing it haha! On a side note, I have a set of Nomad Harvester pants and coat in a pattern that I can't find anymore that I enjoy in the late fall that Kryptek used to make called Banshee. Kind of a neat pattern if you can find it. As far as patterns go that I have sampled, ASAT is the most transitional in the environments that I hunt in, however, it is the only open pattern design really that I have ever used. I personally am not sure if I would necessarily call the Kryptek patterns I've used (Highlander, Banshee, and Mandrake) or Natural Gear (I have some of it too) open pattern designs.

Thanks for the vid👍just came back from doing a camo effectiveness comparison between mossy oak breakup infinity vs surplus Italian alpini vegetata camo. the Italian camo was just too bright in the shade but did a little better in the open sunlight next to scrub and rocks. however mossy oak edged it out because it was virtually invisible when the wearer was standing next to a tree or even out in the open next to the rocks and scrub👍the terrain was rocky with low brush and interspersed with jeffrey pine, sugar pine, and white fir. @5000 ft elevation, with bright sunlight

Sounds like a great test. Breakup infinity does have a good color scheme that blends well in many places.

Which is best for deer season in Tennessee?

Long time fan of the channel, long time hunter and outdoorsman. The only thing I could suggest to make the test a little more scientific, is to do a varying distance. The visual acuity test is set for 30 yards for operational camouflage... to allow the patterns to really shine or fail. No camouflage will really work with how close the samples are place in these tests.

@@CamoMatrix, you are the only one doing these tests in any kind of level playing unbias process. Big, big fan!!! That was the only improvement I could see to make the test more "real". Thank you for what you do!!

@@hikingwithaviking8529 Thanks so much! I have tried to let my viewer make the decision and represent each camo as fairly as I can. I am working on a new test (which will include the close up and a far away image with scoring that hopefully will be more well rounded. I appreciate the comment and have been working to make the simulations better as time goes on. Of course a real test in real light and shadows with the real fabric and background would be ideal. I will keep improving.
