Wow Will.... I am impressed! I still use my v30, but mostly as a dashcam now. I can see that the V40 colors seem to be a bit better also. I can't wait to see your other in depth tests and reviews on this. Really like that it's water proof! I could use this on the sailboat adventures I have coming up. Thanks for this uh... unboxing and can't wait to see more plastic peeling.... yeah ....that's the ticket...lol! Oh!... if you are gonna give it away I call dibs!...lol!
I am VERY happy with the 4K30 footage and the stabilization. The built-in audio isn't so great. In one of your videos you mention how this is related to being waterproof.
Would like to see the various resolutions (of the same target), an external mic check/review, and can the camera be ran off of USB for power? If USB can, would it be possible to hook up a 'Power-Bank' so one could still record/playback while the batteries might be recharging. Also if that works, does the CamPark have Timelapse? Because here again a powerbank could power the camera for a lengthy period.
I have already planned on doing a sunrise or sunset timelapse this weekend. For that video, I will attempt to power it from a powerbank as you suggested. I will pencil in your other suggestions for another video as well. Thank you for your input.
Campark is pretty good with things like this. The V30 also has a dual charger. The dual charger has me wanting a 3rd battery so I can always have two batteries charging up while I'm using the cam.
I'm new to these types of technology and a tech phobe. Thankyou for your video, I'd love a tutorial on how to use the accessories that come with it so I can make the most out of the camera. It'll be primarily used for Snorkeling, scuba diving and dog walks x
DON'T BUY ONE is my advice. I loved my V40 until the battery connector fell out in the battery compartment after 5 months. In spite of Campark saying that there is a 12 month warranty, it turns out that you have to pay £70 return postage to have the faulty camera replaced if it is more than 3 months after purchase. As it would on have cost me £7 to send the camera to be repaired or replaced it isnobvious that Campark are charging users the trade price for a new camera meaning that the last 9 months of the warrantee is worthless. With the initial purchase price plus postage for the replacement ai would have anded up paying around £180 for a £100 camera that would be worthless if it failed again.
Does it have the ability to plug in an external mic? Very interested in buying this camera as the video you shot was very clear indeed but a better mic is in order.
