Ricky Hatton was my first boxing hero as a child. Seeing his son make his debut definitely makes me feel my age. He’s got a massive legacy to live up to but he seems grounded and not a big time Charlie but so was Ricky. Wish him all the best and just enjoy every moment. When that Manchester arena reopens and he fights on it spines will tingle.

If a Boxer could win a world title for being a true gentleman this man would get it 10 times out of 10 for me! Of course we will have to see how he preforms under the ring lights but what a truly humble and respectful man he is! I wish this young fighter the very best of what this sport gives him as he already deserves every title possible IMO

The amount of pressure. Is too high. Well done for being honest about your nerves. It’s all normal. Living under your dads name must me huge pressure. Just stay relaxed and enjoy your moment. And don’t let pressure control you. Just feel free and let your boxing do the job.

If he can have the skill of his old man and the toughness of his uncle he won’t go far wrong. Matthew Hatton went the distance with Canelo, the hard bastard. Lovely family. Ricky was the first boxing event I attended.

A lot of pressure there boy. You need a lot of sparring , i mean top top level sparring. Go spar theee world champions getting them ready for their fights. That’s how you learn. They will give you a proper ass kicking but it’s all worth it. Go beg for an ass kicking everyday of your life from these world top champions until you are a champion yourself or forget it. The thing that guys me the most about this is that I had some talent as a kid, I loved to fight and I could fight and I trained like a demon BUT my dad was the trainer in the gym and I could never get a good word from him, I used to spar lads who were better, older and stronger than me and I took some hidings but I never went down or complained but my dad just never gave me that bit of encouragement I needed and I did need it. I quit in the end and I never got carded or had an amateur fight and it’s the biggest regret of my life.

Ricky was and is a boxing hero. We’re all behind Campbell coming through. Hope he has a great career like his dad. Humble and honest the Hattons! Great to see.

I used to love a night on the piss around Hyde when Ricky was boxing. Always been a fan and hope the lad has success.

No rush at all with Campbell. Hasn't got the experience in the amateurs of Ricky, but he's a real hard working, down to earth lad. Hope, and I'm sure, people will get behind him. And if you are knocking him.....ask yourself why? Why are you having a pop? He's got an opportunity half of us would absolutely love! He's stepped into that ring 30 odd times in the amateurs, which takes bottle.

From one perspective he has a lot to live up to but I hope he does well ...and if he does eventually become a champion he needs to learn from his dad's mistakes .Ricky used to balloon up in weight between fights ...and as great a fighter Ricky was imagine if he'd have had mayweathers dicipline, I think his career would have been much improved and longer lasting.
