PT 1 of my camper renovation series, I'm so excited to finally be sharing this project with ya'll! If you want to see more behind the scenes on this renovation, make sure to follow my socials linked in my bio.
Mold expert and former RV owner here! Just wanted to say you always want to locate the source of the water damage, in other words usually where the leak came from, before investing time and money into repairing the water damage and mold. Otherwise you will likely end up with rot in the same exact area after enough rain. You likely have leaks in your roof but also potentially that sink may of leaked at some point. I say you likely have leaks in your roof because RV roofs are notoriously leaky, also they can be really hard to see if you don't know what to look for...like a leak can be the size of the tip of a pen and cause major interior damage. I highly recommend getting a mobile RV repair guy out there to see if he can locate the leaks and look over the roof. I would tarp the roof regardless because I can pretty much garuntee you its got leaks and a good quality tarp will at least help you save your investement until you can get an RV repair expert to handle fixing the roof.
This is so true! Trust me you don’t want to have to fix the same place twice. A tarp would be a great start and you at least know that is protected. So happy for you and this project! You will love living in it knowing it was remodeled with your help and your brothers. Enjoy the process!
We had a leak along the seal of trim outside our slide and front cap of our 5th wheel rolling down into the closet and dresser slide is where I found mold and damp carpet. Yours was probably from the sink but I do agree with having a mobile tech come out and give it a once over for your benefit!! ❤
Your brothers are so kind to help you! You are very blessed to have such a generous and handy family members. I don’t think I could ask anyone in my family to do even half of those tasks. Congratulations on everything, and I hope it works out! You go, girl!🎉😊
The slider where the soft spot is the roof is leaking. That why the trim board is rotted along with the floor. You need to fix that or it will happen again
It’s been so neat to watch you grow and adjust to your life changing. Can’t believe you’re at this spot now. Way to go, Leah! I was watching your brothers in this video and was overwhelmed with how well they were helping you and setting you up for success. Thankful you come from a great family and have a beautiful support system. Thanks for sharing!
I agree , I’m sure you know how blessed you are to have such supportive loving siblings , but I second that I am very humble to watch your teamwork with your siblings 🩵
For painting, i saw you have waterbased kilz, but if you havent started yet, i cant recommend enough priming with "Coverstain" oil primer. It will make a huge difference in adhesion to the wallpaper paneling in the rv as well as cover any weird smells and stains from the water damage. Advice from a paint company owner. That primer will also be great on the cabinets aswell.
100% agree. I’m in the middle of a 1985 Park Model remodel. Water based sucked and caused me to have to do 4 coats of paint. I went oil based Kilz in bathroom and only had to do 2 coats. I’m covering old paneling like walls and fugly wall paper walls. 😄. Good luck… it’s worth it though. This is my 2nd RV remodel.
My biggest regret as young woman was not getting a vehicle that accompanied my lifestyle. Listening to everyone who said I didn’t need it. Commenting mainly so Leah can get a truck one day to go with it. 😂❤
Those leaks by the table and that lead to the trimwork are likely from your slide leaking. Make sure to check outside under the slide...they often get wet and rot between the interior floor and underside of slide. Been there, done that!
You did such a good job filming this I try and do videos for my bus conversation but it’s so stressful trying to get footage and explain everything and work around other people so I just wanted to let you know you did amazing
Great confidence and “boss babe” vibes. So proud of you for taking charge of your life and buying your own home (mobilized). It will look so great with your taste and style! Can’t wait to see it:-) 💜✝️🌸❤️🇺🇸🌹
I’m so happy for you !!! I think this will be an amazing new chapter in your life ❤ can’t wait for all the adventures and beautiful moments you will build there 🤗🤗🤗 Also so nice of your family to help you 🥹
Awesome to watch you getting your own space to fix up. Nice having family you can rely on to help you with the transformation. You will love it when it is complete.
What a blessing to have the help of your brothers ❤️ I’ve been thinking of RV living for a few years now so I love this new project your bringing us along to watch 😊
You are so lucky to have brothers thay know what they are doing and can helo you with your first "home"!!❤ CONGRATULATIONS! Looking forward to seeing you transform the camper!!
That’s a great project, I am looking forward to see more! It’s wonderful your brothers are supporting - and even better they know what needs to be done 😅
I have never been Exited for a renovation project as yours to be honest ! I feel like there is something special about you ❤ you remind me of who I would have loved to be in your age but I didn’t come near it because of studies and a lot of distractions that came across my path at that time .. I wish you all the best and I promise you that I will check on your social media’s regularly You are such an unique Leah ❤
Found your channel from a short about buying your camper and am really enjoying watching the progress. What a nice family you have. I’m looking after my elderly Mum and one of my brothers comes down every weekend and does jobs around the house, so seeing your brothers helping you reminds me of my brother and makes your videos even more fun to watch. Can’t wait to see more. ❤ From Australia.
Wow you have such a great family! I loved your videos it’s nice to see a younger person have such a good head on their shoulders!! 😊 I wish you luck in your new place and adventure with the move. I definitely will keep watching for more of your videos! 🎉
If you ever need ideas or advice feel free to ask I love to help.. I have a few RV related videos on my channel as well more to do with solar and electrical etc. Your brothers do nice work. Any soft spots and areas water got was from the roof leaking... MAKE SURE your roof is watertight because its the most common thing to keep up with on RVs. Self leveling sealant and eternabond "tape" are great ways to quickly seal leaks and issues. But if nothing has been done to that roof you still have leaks and you dont want it to wreck your new work
Girl me too!! I just bought a brand new camper but I plan on changing some stuff. I will be going on this journey with you for real!!! 😂 I don't pick mine up till the 20th but we will be getting started then. Yay so looking forward to this chapter!!
