Exploring places in the wilderness that people rarely tread through always seems like a good idea. Theres probably a reason they don't tend to go out there though. Original story: www.creepypast...
I work night shift security, these have been some great entertainment as of late. Also, by the description and it's mannerisms I'd say it's one of my ex's
@@RoanokeTales well obviously these stories aren't in chtonological order because you died in the mist man, making it the last story. But.... you also died in they came from the deep. So that means.... *theory mode activated* *parallel universe?* *twin brothers?* *CLONING??????????*

As an avid story listener, I would recommend the dark somnium as another very good one. Makes his own music for his videos, audio effects, and reads extremely well. This is my first roanoke video I've seen aside from his main channels game science videos
@@m3ntallyd3fficient11 been there, done that. He doesn’t have a proper reading voice. Too monotone and boring. I’ve been listening to creepy pastas for literally over a decade. I’m picky.
>be me >monster innadesert >see something in the night >oh, it looks like a babby >but why is it near fire? >Doesn't he know it's dangerous? >babby starts yelling at me >pulls out a long thing and suddenly explosions >oh, it's another human >eh, so long as it doesn't mess up anything more than the other guy >that's right, I have that too! >throw the guy the boot I have so he can make something of it >he doesn't appreciate my gift >how rude! >those other humans back in the day were way cooler, they actually liked me! >too bad they got pushed out of my territory... >hear coyote >maybe this guy would appreciate a gift of meat better? >go out to get it >turn back, see human out of fire light >go back to make sure he's okay >he goes back too >go off to get coyote again, this time come back with it >offer the majority of the meat to the human as a peace offering >the ungrateful bastard throws it back at me! >that's it, I'm not letting you stay in this desert anymore! >can't get close enough to directly grab him because of fire >well, he seems scared enough by me in general >fire starts to die down, human is asleep >good, only a little further and then I can dump him back on the trail! >human wakes up and immediately rebuilds fire >shit.ravenfeather >just decide to pester him until dawn >human leaves immediately after Fucking humans
This one was excellent. I watched this at 3 am this morning while trying to get my baby to sleep. Found myself staring into the screen at the eyes, just like the guy in the story. The immersion was strong.
With the description I would say it is between one of two different creatures. It is either the Wendigo, because the stench of rot, and it traveling in the air, as well as it feeding and never being satiated. Wendigos are sometimes seen as very tall, very thin, lanky, sometimes they have horns. But it also sounds like a skinwalker, because it walks both on all fours as well as upright and has human and coyote festures. Whereas some tales of the wendigo have a forest or even snowy setting (most originating in NorthEast), most tales about Slinwalkers take place in the desert (most originating in Southwest). I would say it is one of those two creatures, or maybe a hybrid. Great read, and great story!
@Cynical Afflictional I have to share this with you, the same day I read your comment I broke my phone while listening to more tales about such creatures. My phone mysteriously fell in water, it happened right in front of me. It was so surreal, because the second it took my eyes off it I saw it fall out of the corner of my eye. There was no reason for it to fall. If someone told me an invisible force had knocked it down, into the water, I would have believed them. I felt watched, and it was very eerie. I just got my phone fixed, and I'm going to stay away from the stuff for awhile LOL.
Cougars don’t care about a shovel. They do care about buckshot. This is the main reason I argue short barrel shotguns should be legal. I know buckshot will scare or stop a predator but damn those extra inches on the barrel make a shotgun hard to take on hikes. I’d prefer to just slip a sawed off between my bag and my back
@@derbananenbaumler9482 have you considered fire? Most animals instinctively flee fire. Air freshener and a lighter in short controlled bursts could startle a wolf. Idk if Bear mace is illegal in Germany.
This was a good one. Nice and creepy because I wasn't completely sure if the creature was friendly or not until near the end where it seemed to be definitely NOT. The creature gave him a coyote, why? It seemed to only push him the first time, not grab and pull him into the dark, not rake him with claws or something. I thought it was playing with him like a small child and a bunny, not knowing its own strength.
I so enjoy your tales! I love to listen to them when I laying down to go to sleep, or when I'm on lunch at work. I love your voice! It's great, you sound like you really love doing these stories! Thank you for the entertainment!
My Fiancee thinks I'm crazy that these are the videos I play when going to bed. I love em haha. Before I found out you were doing these I listened to Dark somnium's 24/7 radio. You put a lot of effort into your videos and it shows you rock brother 🤘
As usual, if the forest smells weird, GTFO. So what was this thing? Wendigos seem to prefer forested areas and I'm not sure what else it could be. I've seen a couple people suggest Shades but the term is so generic it's hard to pin down if this is one of the many interpretations of it or not. One really neat suggestion I saw somewhere was the Dover Demon, but Massachusetts isn't known for its deserts. So this is basically a long-winded way of saying, IDFK.
I like that he used an image of a Mad One from Bloodborne as a reference for how the thing looked😊 MAYBE ROANOKE CAN DO BLOODBORNE BEASTS FOR HIS ROANOKE GAMING CHANNEL
I’d maybe put “Story by,” whoever under the title in the videos or in the description, just for the people who wrote the stuff. Either way, fun to listen to.
The scariest part about this is the fact that this isn't the first story where they depict coyotes as predatory animals that can be aggressive towards humans 😂
They can absolutely pose a threat to humans. Unfortunately for whoever is unlucky enough usually if the pack is pressed for food meaning they may not back down even from things that may typically dissuade them. Typically the risk is minimal, but in times of drought, blight, or if you’re alone on a dark night in the woods just try to keep an ear out if you know a pack is nearby. A pack of coyotes are just as dangerous to us as a pack of feral dogs.
Coyotes are probably not my biggest fear in the wilderness, I can kill a coyote or a wolf maybe even a bear or cougar if im able-bodied enough in the moment. But disease is just terrifying, it makes any outside threat even more dangerous and your body becomes a warzone. Its scary especially if your hard pressed to find food or water because all your energy starts to fade quickly.
@@peachtree2579 Did you just say you could take on a bear a wolf or a cougar with your bare hands if you are able bodied enough?? HA!!! HAHAHAHAAAA!!!! You’ve never even been outside keyboard man, but hats off to you for the commitment
@@justinhough3169 i doubt they meant bare handed, i don't think they are that naive to think they could take them with no weapons. if they are, well they really shouldn't go into nature.
If anything I would say it was less evil and more curious. watching and waiting to see what happens. and dropping off the boot and the dead chayote kinda sounded like an offering or an experiment. if it wanted the light to be gone cause clearly it was incredibly uncomfortable around it than it would be an offering. but if it was doing it just to see his reaction than it probably would be experimenting. and if it could bap him on the back to notify of this new gift than if it wanted to it could have easily pulled him into the darkness.
Very interesting. I really like your stories. You should set up something. Where do you get your ideas from? Legends or myths? You tell a great horror story. ❤
After a TBI my hearing has been replaced with tinnitus, so I greatly appreciate that I can fully hear and understand what you're saying and the words you are pronouncing. As much as I love Mrcreepypasta and the other guys they lower their voices and up the bass it sounds slurred and I can't understand 30-50% of what they say... People often forget how terrifying something is when it is clearly defined and presented. Watch the "Woman in black" from the about 1970s and the new ler one with Radcliffe. Perfectly encompasses what I'm describing and personally the original haunts me to this day versus the Radcliffe version. Which is still a fantastic movie, but it doesn't stay with you in the same fashion.
33:45: Werewolf? Maybe? fits the descripiton "long face like a horse with mouth streching far to where the skull meets"but i never heard then being aversed to light that is a new twist
Mmm... 1 am, just ate a lot of ice cream, took the last portion of my medication that caused me unpleasant side effects, Roanoke reading a nice scary story and I'm laying in my oversized bed on my oversized pillow. Life good
Bedtime Stories, Mr. Creeps, and you Roanoke Tales, if you three did some sort of collab, we would all die happy ... before becoming mutated formerly-human turned forest-spirit flesh-easting monsters, ghosts, revenants, supernatural-being hunters, and demons of course.
After reading the coments i think i`ll pass on this one , The mimic one with the two boys gave me chill down my spine so no thank you its 1AM i aint ready for this. Love the missing ones or the unsolved mysteries but this is where my limits at.
those eyes were quite effective XD. The Dark Somnium did a video on this story too (Though I have only heard it from his no sleep radio live steams) Got to say I enjoy the story aways though ^^
The thing didn't sound dangerous, it sounded like it wanted to communicate with him. The boots where weird, but like maybe a clue, like it had something to do with the old car maybe it used to be its owner. Idk this was awesome though!
Can Roanoke speak at my funeral? My god this guy is amazing, found him accidentally when looking at theory videos for RE, the moment i heard him explain the T virus, ive been hooked. My man, your intellect and persona knows no bounds
Oh yeah, i think the creature in this story based off the desert areas described being close and odor, i THINK its the Mogollon Monster in American folklore
Aaaaaalright so we have a creature that: reeks of death, causes darkness, has glowing eyes, looks like a distended human, has a thing going with coyotes, inhabits the American desert, only comes into its own at night. Aight, pretty classic Yeenaldlooshii shit, right there. Can't go wrong with the classics.
great, he transfered himself from hot winds of the Den Of the SkinWalker, now he lives in the snow, having an all-nighter with a Wendigo of all things. lol
Sounds like a mix between an anerexic Werewolf, with hints of The Mad ones of Bloodborne. Tall spindly fellows with a sickle and very long, wacky hair all about the head down to the mid biceps, and jet black with pearly white eyes
I was taking a deep breath when the coyote howl played and for a second I thought I was wheezing lol. I'm so used to it that I just assumed it was me and not the video.
It was just curious and trying to help out. Another hiker was killed and eaten by animals and it gave him their boot, the last thing left of them, to return to their family. Then it gave him a coyote to eat, but took it back and ate it itself when it realized he didn't want it. It could've very easily taken him into the darkness while he was asleep and the fire burned down and it got really close, but it didn't.
Im going to guess Wedidgo because of the rotten smell and aversion to fire. Also a monster in hot wind, i am glad I heard this as Australia is trying to remember how to autumn
