Is the tallest State Park in Georgia worth the drive? Are the views really that spectacular? Join us as we review our experience at Black Rock Mountain State Park in Mountain City, GA. BLACK ROCK MOUNTAIN STATE PARK - gastateparks.o...
I saw every trip y'all made just waiting for my favorite state park,, Cloudland Canyon to be visited by y'all but, you never went there. Then, all of a sudden, you were gone ! Y'all did a great job too !!😊
Agree Kent Rollins is a good info source for DO cooking. If you know someone that cooks with Dutch ovens try to get with them for tips and lessons. It will flatten your learning curve and save you lots of money not buying things you don’t need like the fire tripod. There are some good instructional books like “Lodge Dutch Oven Cooking” that will give you basic starting instruction and easy beginner recipes like Mountainman breakfast, peach dump cake, beef stew, chili, biscuits and gravy, etc. I started cooking with one Dutch oven on a whim over 20 years ago camping just like you are. I now have numerous ovens that I always cook on when I go camping and sometimes use them at home. Practice at home makes camp cooking easier. Once you start you will find you have a Dutch oven going in camp every trip.
You guys will have to make a trip up to the mountains of Northeast Alabama. Desoto State park is a nice campground. While here you are not far from the home of Lodge cast iron manufacturing. The have a store with their whole line of cast iron products as well as an area of factory seconds that can be purchased for a huge discount.
Yall are completely underrated youtuber's i hope yall continue to grow and with us being in VA we plan on camping down in GA this coming springs. maybe a pop up meet up!? Im a bbq caterer so i can feed a crowd ;)
Y’all are such a beautiful couple 😍. I really love get back into camping. I’m disabled, in a wheelchair so I have to look at stuff like that unfortunately. But, I think we make it work. Beautiful place and not that far from me. 🌻🌻💕luv Sherri
I've watched all your videos, you do a great job letting people know about these campgrounds. I have a pop up and my first trip of the year is next month and I can't wait.
Haven't been to Black Rock in a while. Love the hiking and being that high up. I heard you say Vogel, another of our favorite camping places. Our paths will probably cross at some point. Covid has slowed us a little, we had to cancel a couple trips, but if we live through it we will be back at it, We are retired and usually stay out for quite a while. Disneys Ft wilderness is another favorite of ours. Hope to see yall out there soon. Stay safe.
Thank y’all so much for watching! We are headed to Vogel now and will be at Ft Wilderness in January! Cannot wait! Make sure to stop and say hi if you see us!
For your cast iron & dutch oven cooking check YT channel Cowboy Kent Rollins - Excellent cook!! He is almost always outside over coals. I think you'll really like him!
I would suggest you guys try Stephen Foster at Okefenokee. Very neat state park with the swamp, critters, and star gazing. I would think your boys would love it too.
We Dutch oven cook all the time I have a 10 inch deep lodge and an 10 inch Ozark trail ($17 Walmart) and we use the ozark the most. My favorite is biscuits and gravy. Look up cooking with al on RU-vid and he has a video on how to do it. We go chili over the fire with it too.
Hey! I would love to see your reviews of the different campsites that you mentioned writing down. I'm going on my first solo trip in a few months, and I would love to know which of the individual sites you thought were best.
Looks like a great spot for pop up campers, but going up that hill to the top is pretty intense. Couldn't imagine pulling anything up that road to the top. What is your favorite spot # at this campsite. Any other State parks that you would recommend for pop up camping? Now following!
Our favorite spots would be anything near the camp office- there are 4-5 spots on flatter ground near the office and those were nice. You can't go wrong in any of the North Ga State Park. If you want beach camping- check out our videos on those.
@@PopUpLife Will do! My wife and I love to travel and will check out the other videos on your channel. Been to almost every state park in Georgia except for few on the south east portion of the state but working to that goal. There is a ton of places to hike and explore onmy channel that might interest you. Would love to hear your feedback! Keep up the videos! Cheers
