Campground Review: Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area in Pensacola, Florida (Blue Angle RV Park)

See this wonderful military campground in Pensacola, FL: Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area, also known as Blue Angel Park. It is operated by Pensacola Naval Air Station, but is actually 9 miles outside of the NAS back gate off Highway 98. It has full and partial hook-up RV sites, raised tent sites, primitive cabins, and mobile homes for vacation rentals. There are numerous activities to participate in while you enjoy this camping destination on Perdido Bay!

Great review of this campground! Looks like they have a lot of really good amenities, volleyball, playgrounds and even mini golf paintball, disc golf, wow. I went to Pensacola NAS many moons ago, my dad was in the Navy in WWII, but I had no idea they had a campground near by. Who am I kidding, they probably didn't way back when! We need to go to Pensacola for the lighthouse and the birds, love the lagniappe! LOL! Thanks for sharing you guys, hope you are having safe travels and will have a wonderful weekend! This campground is actually on the site of an old WWII seaplane base. They still have the ramps and I found a geocache at the site of the old's officer club. The foundation is the only thing left.

Oh, that's so cool Julie! My grandfather was a civilian contractor on the base before the start of WWII and through part of it. After Pearl Harbor and my dad joined the navy, he spent part of the war at Pensacola as an instructor. He was also a lifeguard at the pool, LOL! He would have been a lieutenant, so probably in that old club some where you were :) On a side note, we used to geocache years ago, but haven't in ages, so fun that people are still hiding caches at neat places! Thanks for sharing, this makes my day. Monday is the anniversary of my dad's death, four years ago, so thinking about him and his time in Pensacola brings a big smile to my heart :) Have a blessed day ---Stacy 😍❤

Love what you guys are doing and have joined your channel family. You have done very well and know you are passed 1000 but was hoping you could show the same love to ours as we are getting there but every new join really does help. We have vacationed in perdido key. We enjoyed that area. Also, love that mini golf area. That's cool.

Many years ago I was lucky enough to sit in one of the Blue Angels planes! NICE BEACH! Nice to see all of the military campgrounds - glad they have them. Not that I can use them - ha ha! Still gives us ideas of areas to go though!

The facilities look really nice! The beach looks so beautiful. Nice location. It's nice that it's close to a couple other things to see and do. Love the views from on top of the lighthouse.

Jane Hollis You should see my Disney review. I have the map and move the cursor around to show different parts. It’s so big, you have to do that to give people a frame of reference.

Chickery's Travels Yes I saw that one and thought the same thing....great review of Fort Wilderness BTW, anyone planning on going should check it out. I can’t wait to get there someday. We were planning on spending my 50th there but Ken got sick and we had to stay close to Stanford that winter. Hopefully in the next year or two😀

I agree! It was pretty cold during our two weeks there so we didn't partake in too many outdoor activities, but we want to return.

Was there any dry camping at NAS Pensacola? If not is there a location you would suggest in that area?

No dry camping there, but Bayside Campground (also known as Grassy Point) is a free no hook-up campground located in the wilderness to the west of Eglin Air Force Base. That's about an hour from Pensacola. It has just 12 campsites and a whole lot of wilderness.

Great to know. My brother retired out of Hurlburt so it would be a great opportunity to go see him. I also know that the Army has a RV resort in Destin.

I did 7 yrs in the Air Force and 2yrs in south east Asia, and just because I'm not retired or civilian employee cannot stay here with my family. Not very fair.
