Camping at the top of Golden Ears: what an experience. Carlos and I witnessed a sea of cloud below us at sunset, thunderstorms all night, and the cloud forest on the way down. Thanks for watching!

Been up Golden Ears 4 times. We usually made it a 1-day up/down trip then on the last visit we camped for 2 nights... so much better to add that kind of time rather than make everything a workout or personal competition! Pack a tent ⛺, snacks, and a LifeStraw ... and go! Love your videos Luke.

Your video inspires me! Thank you for capturing! If I were to ask some questions, in general of most of your hikes, how do you capture all of these? (I mean, mix of GoPro and the Sony A7s?) Some of the time lapse seemed to be moving, so do you have a gimbal or something similar that you carry too? That would be quite some weight to carry, it probably would add to the difficulty, but then again, it helps us get to see your nice adventure! My last question is in regards to battery for your gear. Do you take a lot of spare batteries pre-charged? Really cool to wonder about all these questions! (It's ok if you can't answer them all). But really, thank you very much for documenting your videos and taking us to great heights while down here on plain land. Hope one day I can do this hike too! Keep it up brother!
@lifeofluke
@lifeofluke 2 года назад
Hey Sarwar! Thanks for the comment, in this video it's all the a7s (now I use an insta360 too) and I do a little panning/tilting digitally to the time lapses. Yes, I have to take a bunch of charged batteries with me, and unfortunately the battery life on the a7s is pretty awful.

Damn the nature in North America is really something. Here in Poland we have some nice mountains in the south too but it's not the same when there is a village or a town within 10 km from even the wildest places. It's just too crowded here and the rules in national parks have to be strict to preserve the nature. Generally no wild camping. Europe is just too small haha.
@lifeofluke

I've heard this about Europe before from other people as well and it makes me always grateful for the wild places we have in Canada. Although this park here in this video is very close to Vancouver and other large cities, and easily accessible.
