Compared to the average campgrounds, Lake in Wood (now called Sun Outdoors Lancaster County) is BEAUTIFUL!!! It’s my family’s favorite in eastern PA! This couple makes it sound kinda average but don’t be mislead. The 4 pools in the summertime are beautiful!!! They offer “red carpet” sites which cost more but are paved if that’s what you like. What campground has a cafe to eat at??? This one!
There is a Quarry very close to the campground. While we were camping we heard machinery all the time. With out the noise, the campground was nice. The lake to me, was more like a big pond.
Just returned from staying the weekend at Lake in Wood. A big portion of the campground is seasonal campers with only a small fraction of the sites available for weekenders. Nice clean campground, your review was accurate. Close to home. I had site 180, extremely uneven side to side. had to raise the trailer up on the right side so high I ran out of adjustment on my steps and even had to block them up. I noticed even the concrete pad sites weren't so level either.
Hey Steve, glad our review was useful. Agreed about the leveling. For such a nice campground you would expect a little more. Overall nice and clean though as you stated. Glad you had a good trip! It is nice how close this one is to home for us as well. A campground you will always have a consistent experience at.
Thanks , I’m going to check out your others. most videos out there are focused on what’s great for kids or they are full time RV people, neither of which is us:) We just bought our first Trailer and enjoyed your perspectives!
Great videos happy I found this channel. I grew up camping and have been at the same campground for the past 31 years. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thanks for posting the video. I’m a future newbie in the making so your input is greatly appreciated. I’m looking to purchase my very first RV in March 2022. So I’m watching many videos to try to figure out and make reservations in advance to the first place I’d like to take my RV camping? Would you recommend this place for me for the first time out? Or is there another campsite you rather recommend me? Would you have a particular site in the park that you recommend that I try to get???
I’m glad you are enjoying our videos. That’s why we got into RU-vid so we can share our experiences. Especially locally as we found a lot of local places were not covered. I can’t 100% say one place is better than other for first time. I would pick a place with larger spaces and maybe even consider somewhere that has pull through sites to take away the stress of backing in. Certainly full hook ups. Otherwise it’s preference on amenities, location, etc.
