@@maskedmanfishing I’ve made the trip a few times in my Chapparal. Right at dead lakes and chipola cutoff the river has lots of sand and is very shallow. About 10 yrs ago it was sticking at 16” through that stretch so we opted for chipola and had 10-15’ of water the whole way back to appalachicola. I heard of several boats (inboards) that had run aground in that stretch. I feel like I coulda made it trimmed up but on hindsight it was most definitely the better way. The cutoff was constructed during the logging days, idk what they used to construct it or when ( it predates Seminole I’m sure) but it’s plenty deep, kinda narrow in places but another benefit is the shade tree lined banks. I’ve always gone down during the months of July or August. We usually put in at Walter F George (eufala) and lock down to App and then ICW to PC. No desire to go to PC any longer.
