Do you know if that hole saw was the "Bi-Metal" or "Carbide"? I am about to install this plug on my boat and need to go get the hole saws. Also, have you had any problems with the plugs?
The one I have is Bi-metal. The plug is still like brand new and I use it several times a week in saltwater. I'm very happy with it. Thanks for watching.
@@maskedmanfishing I’ve made the trip a few times in my Chapparal. Right at dead lakes and chipola cutoff the river has lots of sand and is very shallow. About 10 yrs ago it was sticking at 16” through that stretch so we opted for chipola and had 10-15’ of water the whole way back to appalachicola. I heard of several boats (inboards) that had run aground in that stretch. I feel like I coulda made it trimmed up but on hindsight it was most definitely the better way. The cutoff was constructed during the logging days, idk what they used to construct it or when ( it predates Seminole I’m sure) but it’s plenty deep, kinda narrow in places but another benefit is the shade tree lined banks. I’ve always gone down during the months of July or August. We usually put in at Walter F George (eufala) and lock down to App and then ICW to PC. No desire to go to PC any longer. Thank you, I enjoyed the video with its focus on the fishing and your easy manner. Wakulla Beach is a good choice for shore fishing. Access is off US 98 just to the west of the Wakulla River, the little bay west of the landing winds its way to Shepherd Spring - a hidden wonder - with amazing deep cuts and oyster bars near the entrance. Ideal for a Jon boat or Kayak but watch out for the no-see-ums and deer flies! You mentioned maybe by mistake Bottoms Road located just north of Panacea which features a wonderful drive through the saltmarsh, mullet/bait can be plentiful at the little bridge, you'll see an old Seineyard along the way. Boat ramp is impossible at low tide! And of course there is Mashes Sands to south of Panacea I'd be careful about bacteria in the water quality there. But I suspect you know all of that Masked Man!
That's the tricky part! He purchased the hull from a private local dealer that no longer does it. Basically he would get enough orders for the hulls and ship over 5 or 6 at a time. I'm not sure who does it now.
Appreciate the video. Once the parts come in I’m going to tackle this project. My seastar is 11 years old and first time to leak. I did purchase better seals from five star marine.

I bought one of these kits and the bridge fittings leaked like crazy. Got it from Amazon but they couldn't keep a seal at all. The part on helm was okay though

I like that idea. Takes a longer time to get all the bubbles out, but you don’t waste any fluids by bleeding. Having to have a container and filter back etc, it’s just a hassle.
