Greetings Jess- That is a real nice tent and designed well. Your little stove looks like its working well and does what you need it too. I have memories of field testing the MSS sleep system back in 1991 up at Ft Drum, NY. We tested them with just a sleeping mat on the snow in field conditions and temps below zero and they worked very good and looks like they still work. Good video and field craft. You and yours be good- Shalom-

Thanks Mike. The MSS is solid kit for sure. The tent was great overall. The inner really adds a lot to it. Have a good one.

Hey Jess, great to see you got out into the woods again. What a weird winter this has been. Really bummed me out, I planned a 2 night trip after Christmas and before New Year's when I had time off of work. It did nothing but rain and the temps were in the 40's. Didn't feel like driving almost 200 miles north to camp in the wet mud.. I have a new Pomoly tent and stove, couldn't even set up the tent at home to get familiar with it or do the first burn in the stove. Now I don't have the time off. The lamb chili looked great, take care. 👍

Really like that tent and hot stove. As nice as it was, I bet you still love your tarps and outdoor fires more! I have a Firehiking 2-4 person hot tent and a smaller less expensive hot stove. I took both to Newfoundland and wouldn’t sleep in it once I realized it didn’t come with a floor. lol So I bought myself a new tent with a floor. I’ve also since bought myself a floor, but still haven’t tried it. Maybe I’m more a glamper than a camper after all! Thanks for the video! All the best to you and yours in this New Year.

Hi Jess .. 👍👍👍 .. nice. Good seeing you again 😊. Looks to be a good snowfall. Here in Northern Switzerland, we've only had one bout this season. Not that much but it hung around on the ground for a while due to below-freezing temps. More rain here off and on at about freezing which can be a schlep regarding 'what to wear' .. wet / dry / both 😏. Nice tent setup with the 'hot' section in the vestibule .. gives one some flexibility. Hot Tents are definitely a bonus during cold spells. While the extra weight and bulk could limit one's movement and range, as a 'base camp', a viable option. Also, in decent snow, portability can be improved using a sled. Always good watching your posts my friend. I trust that all is well with K and the W's x 2. They must be pretty mobile by now and keeping you guys on your toes 😁. Take care .. all of you .. and until next time .. Tommy

Hey Tommy! Thank you! Not much of a winter here either. Big swings in temperatures, below freezing one day, then 40-50F, then freezing, etc etc. Not good for the fields or the crops. It’s gonna be an interesting year. W&W are doing real good. Just had the 2nd B day. Wolf got a punching bag and has been working it relentlessly. Will has skipper over the boxing phase and went straight to dirty fighting lol Never a dull moment. Have a good one 🤝

Hey there my brother 😃 Good to see ya again out in the snow. It looked real cozy ☺️👍🏻 I'd love to be out there too, but I got a little banged up from the heavy wet snow that came through Iowa last week & then on some black ice a couple days ago, so I'm out of commission for at least a solid week. Enjoy the weather Jess & thanks for the adventure 😁

@SusieLovesJesus

@@EnduranceRoom Since I got them I've been unable to use them. I have them sitting in my room right where I'm constantly staring at them and I'm itching to get started. I have sprained the muscles over my left ribcage from shoveling massive amounts of heavy snow from the blizzard that came through central Iowa and it feels like when I broke my ribs years ago. I can't cough, talk with any conviction, or take a hearty breath without deep pain because it's hard to breathe. Then as that was starting to get better, I front planted on black ice and came down on my outer wrists. Both are sprained (left worse) and it's hard to even use a doorknob. It wrenched my lower back, dinged my left hip, and caused a light whiplash that's got my right arm constantly going numb with pins & needles... Probably a pinched nerve. I'm pretty banged up atm 😂 But this too shall pass and JESUS is on my side, so what more do I need?! 🙏🏼😁 I'm waiting to heal, and it's hard, but I hope its fast... From your lips to GOD'S ears. But I do hope to get to them soon, trust that 💪🏻 Thanks for checkin on me though brother. All my best to you & the family. Stay safe & frosty. ☺️

@@SusieLovesJesus Sounds like there might have been a strain in the obliques from shoveling. I did something similar last year and it took months. It didn’t go away until I started moving. The fascia had kind of locked up at of place and was making this pulling/tearing pain. This video has helped me out several times over the last couple years. Well worth checking out. systemavasiliev.com/store/product/heal-the-back-downloadable/ For the wrists, try gentle movement with little to no strain. Open and close fingers, stretching forward to close, stretching back to open, gradually flexing wrist. Work wrist close, open, up (thumb), down (pinky), rotate clockwise and counterclockwise. Start wherever you are at, gentle movement just to the point of pressure, then change direction and repeat. The idea is to gradually expand comfortably until ROM is restored. Working on the breathe is incredibly beneficial. The Systema site above has very good information on it. The whole practice is based on it as a foundational principle. Lastly, Scott Sonnon put out a free program on YT called Intu Flow that is an incredible restorative mobility program. All of the above and the kettlebells are all related. ATVB

Cool tent . Long enough or did you have to sleep at an angle ( tall people issues 😁 ) I like that seasoning pouch you have . Looked like homegrown lamb . Homestead up and running smoothly ? Wish you were still on Fascistbook. Hope and the family are doing well. Got some saber rattling going on down here . High and deep . Have a great evening

So weird my comments are gone lol, Jess what would you prefer if you had to choose one the Fjelduken or Sarma Tst?? Im leaning towards the uninsulated version for all year like a bivvy over sleeping bag/quilt wondering your choice though 😆 ✊️🔥✌️💚
@EnduranceRoom
@EnduranceRoom 7 месяцев назад
Either would be great. I suppose given a choice, I like the jerven. The uninsulated Sarma cloak would pair up with a woobie well and give you about 3 seasons with it. Add a sleeping bag for 4. The jerven original zips up square 144cm, opens to 144x288 for a nice rectangular tarp. Not sure how it would work as a bivvy.
@Canadian_Craftsman
@Canadian_Craftsman 7 месяцев назад
@EnduranceRoom that's what I was thinking with the Sarma like a ranger burrito with Thermal blocking capabilities for impending global annihilation!!🤣👌 cheers brotha thanks for the response as always!!
