How to replace the camshaft position sensor on a 2004 to 2007 Volkswagen Golf Mark 5. If your camshaft position sensor is faulty, your engine might judder, surge or even stall due to an improper amount of fuel being injected. You may have poor acceleration, bad fuel economy and your car may even go into ‘limp mode’. You may also have a check engine light on. A code reader might show any of these error codes if there’s a fault with the camshaft sensor: P0340, P0340, P0341, P0342, P0343, P0344 or P1345. Please Note: There are other engine issues that could cause these same symptoms. A faulty camshaft sensor is just one of the possible causes. The replacement part number is 036907601D.
