Because connection (weak or deep) exists outside of romantic love, crushes, or family and friends. It can be planted and nurtured to grow between you and anyone when you open your mind to know and understand the other in more depth, avoiding giving to much attention or weight to things that would get you too confused or nervous, hence, clouding your reason. Their focus, their mind, is on being in sync with the music and one another, and enjoying the moment (from what I see), so they are very likely putting the things that would make it unnecessarily awkward, or even make it impossible, aside, in order to allow it to be(come) something natural/fluid.
It's fun and silly! You're dancing to imitate flirtiness or sexiness, not to actually express it. If you've ever flirted with your friends as a joke, it's like that. It just isn't serious

They both follow each others moves amazingly. You can tell he starts following her moves right when she starts smiling. They both dances really well but when you notice her expression change is when you really start feeling it ❤
He really does set the tone, just with that first head nod, and initiates the lead... which she appears to click with quickly... one can watch his hand placement on her torso, and she taps in with his style quickly. BUT, my favorite was him placing her hand on his neck and his spin to her! They complemented each so well! ☺️☺️☺️
he made space for it. that's basic leading. west coast gives tons of space for personal embellishment, because there's so little focus on footwork and musicality, as is the case with lindy hop. also it's a really slow song with a steady 4/4 beat, so not exactly hard to pick up on.
As a person who never learned to dance I am so amazed by people who can float around the dance floor like these two. It’s beautiful & I love to watch them.
It's talent of course but also A LOT of practice and watching videos. You have to be commited and dance with a lot of different partners. Eye contact is essential as well.

Real dancers can do this in the same way that musicians can get together with strangers and all play together. It's something I've always admired about real dancers.
He is good with any partner he gets because he knows how to lead and let the girls shine. This is the man every woman wants to dance with. The boy is awesome in any move he makes.
^^ agree 💯 Two dancers who are both properly trained, it doesn’t so much matter that they’ve never danced together before. A good leader will lead with body language and the way he communicates to his partner with his hands; a good partner knows what each signal means and responds accordingly - and so they dance in sync with one another. It gets better with practice, but this video shows two brilliant dancers who really know how to dance, no matter that they’ve never danced together before.

Great chemistry! They looked professional……yet fresh and free at the same time. It didn’t look like a emotionless routine they’ve done a thousand times, it looked like it was exciting and authentic! Loved it!
These competitions are amazing, not just because of the dancing but because of the enthusiasm of the other competitors who seem to just appreciate everyone's dances without any jealousy or ill will.
I think he is such a smooth dancer and he makes so many moves look great, but when he gets an equally good dancer like her……it’s off the charts! They killed it!!!
I’m so amazed what a good lead this guy is. He’s so easy to follow and the girl is awesome with her facial expressions. You would think they have been dancing for years. I love watching dancing so much. I can’t dance good but that doesn’t stop me from loving to watch people that can dance. I think I have watched the clip twenty times straight. Again you two were absolutely excellent.

I’m 61, but I danced competitively n my 20’s. When I turned 40, I learned to salsa and then did that competitively. I still dance, but not like I used to due to health reasons. So I love your videos … you’re both very good, and I’d never know you weren’t a team. Thank you for your videos … they make me remember when …. And always put a smile on my face

A Great Dancer reads body movement, looks, pressure on their body, I could go on! I'm a Nurse now because Dancing doesn't pay😮😔. But, I try to stay in shape now, at 60
