You realize that each of the redcoats would have had to kill 100 romans to win, right? I think you have been severely overestimating how well and outnumbered force can do, even with their advantages.

plus it would take 1 minute to 2 to reload those rifles, a minute being an expert at reloading

@@BringDHouseDown well if its a musket they can fire 3rnds per minute. But if its a flintlock rifle then yeah it could take like 2 minutes to reload

I think you really overestimated the red coats. They suck at dealing with close quarters combat, I don't even know if american ww2 riflemen could do win in this situation.

Umm ww1 riflemen could do it. Literally 10x the range, mag size, reload rate, penetration, etc. It's not like guns don't magically not work in close quarters combat. That said you are right about massively overestimating the redcoats

I just don't think the redcoats were ever going to have time to get off a hundred shots each before the romans reached them, a 10:1 ratio might have been a fairer fight, or maybe one of the WWII units with a higher ROF.

My favorite part of UEBS 2: the PATHFINDING! It’s so interesting just seeing all the different paths and adaptations the sides take during a fight.

This seems to be a fairly frequent problem of yours, where you overlook all the potential routes and thus the mass number army just flanks the defending army in a way that you don't expect.

GG. I would like to see the Redcoats in square formation but with each corner anchored with a Chunk Norris. They may have a better chance against millions of zombies.

even if the Redcoats were strong enough to fight this battle as was intended, the Romans just managed to completely outsmart them and flank every single position of the Redcoats. Truly some smart plays by the Roman AI here

It’s kind of ironic that the Romans used an encirclement maneuver because that’s kind of how they actually fought. A few times though they were the victims of their own tactics.

I would like to see more strategy being involved such as positioning soldiers like red coats into smaller groups in defendable positions while an army attacks them from multiple directions. It gets boring if a army with automatic weapons are used as it all looks the same. For example, a city with lines of archers or soldier protecting different chokepoints or building in the city while another army is seigeing.

A tiered defence like this is great, but in a situation where you have infinite ammo and where the attackers don't get tired or anything like here, that strategy only really works if ALL tiers can shoot at the same time. If some of the defenders aren't firing, they're not adding anything to the defense and would have been more helpful closer to the front lines.

Reading through these comments, I don't think people understand just how important those Roman shields are. If this fight was WWII soldiers, the shields wouldn't have any real effect. However, musket balls are slower and softer, which means they would either be deflected or significantly slowed down before they hit. This means that instead of two musket rounds for one death, the redcoats need three or four.

Daley, ever played Rise of Nations? It's an old game, from 2003 made by Microsoft, that can also host battles like this between ages. This battle, for instance, would be Enlightenment Age vs. Medieval Age tech.

You need a battle of 10,000 of every other type of unit in a tight formation including 5000 trolls, and with 30 tanks on free roam vs 15,000,000 zombies I think it would be cool to see.

This one great battle of the Crimson Heights had both sons of Troy butchering each other there with lead and steel, eventually the Roman Legions, having scouted a rear pathway into the enemy rear, silenced the thundering muskets of the British Redcoats. A battle to immortalize the fallen of the empires.

Maybe in a future update there will be the option to place invisible barriers in unused areas to prevent unwanted flanks. Might take away some of the fun that comes with unforeseen events though

I have an idea. If your game allows it, that is. Have one million WW1 Germans fighting twenty five thousand WW2 Germans. Or you can play with that number if it works better. Hopefully you have those factions.

Rate of fire was what got some of them killed but it was the multiple flanking that was causing the redcoat Ai to not focus on a general section. I would like to see this type of fight again but with a bit more strategy :3

I'd really like a re-do with the rear flank covered by a few squadrons. They would have a good chance of defending given the range and time it would take them to approach. Could have turned the battle.

What if you tested out game tactics? Like if you had a mobile formation laid out tanks-smgs-shotguns that was designed to hit the enemy tanks first so they would establish a new position over time? Also I noticed that a common theme is mobile melee armies against static ranged armies. Would consider more videos where both sides were mobile?

Try and make the biggest pile by putting some strong units in 1 spot and all the others attacking. But they need to be close quarters God units to get the biggest pile

All of these videos are SO Unrealistic. Might as well be robots fighting. Things this game gets wrong or doesnt take into account: Reload time speeds, human error (each human) Fatigue etc. / Accidental deaths (shooting the guy in front of you) Fumbling, tripping over dead bodies etc. Im sure others could come up with more. If people where computers maybe it would look like this lol.

LOL where did you get the idea this was a simulator? It's a mass-combat sandbox game 4fun. If it were a simulator, arrows and rocks couldn't damage tanks, the Romans wouldn't have such criminally low stats compared to Spartans or Persians, and 1 bullet from any ranged unit would be enough to take down most melee attackers. Luckily, unit stats can be easily modded, that's the 1st thing I did when I got the game.

Hey maybe instead of doing millions of soldiers try just 100,000 to 10,000 soldiers in battles so you don’t have to fast forward I don’t like the fast forward but I still love your videos Keep it going my friend
