Hey folks,
Today we will be seeing if the 28ga with #6 shot is capable of taking a turkey at 40yds with factory ammo. I'll also be throwing in some bonus patterns of a load I have worked up with an ounce of buffered shot. Thanks for watching and hit the subscribe button.

Good video. I’ve been thinking about going back to lead or smaller loads of tss.. Tss is almost cheating especially in the larger payloads. Getting a gobbler closer than 40 is the challenging part of turkey hunting.

Great video once again. It got me thinking of purchasing the Winchester 3 inch game loads in 4s, 6s and 7 1/2s for game. I think they have brass bases if I'm not mistaken.

The 3" Winchester's are basically a 3" AA-HS hull....so yes they will have brass bases.

Interesting video. I have started looking around at options for 28ga turkey loads so this helps. You also showed the importance of marking the box when you save them for reloading purposes. Running steel through that super full choke…

Thanks again for another great video! I’m looking forward to “what’s in the box” the last 410 video was eye opening. The biggest takeaway for me 3/4 ounce from the 410 is a 30 yd load, 1 ounce from the 28 is a 35 yard load (maybe 40 handload) I agree that 10 yards from 30-40 is substantial. Let us just step back in time- in the 90s it was 12 ga 3 1/2” lead 6s for 40 yards kills- so a 28 gauge 35 yard killer is a huge success!! ATI is importing a single shot 28 gauge. They are $115, come with a tighter choke and will fill the void Turkey hunters have craved- a lightweight, budget single shot 28 gauge. TSS guys will be all over it. You have shown it’s no slouch with lead.

I have been following the 28 Gauge loading reviews and have duplicated your results with the factory bismuth loads. I have patterned the new Winchester Bismuth and Super Pheasant 3" loads, the results have been good so far. Would like to see a whats in the box and if you have similar pattern results.

haven't gotten my hands on those loads as of yet. Will be doing "what's in the box" on Rem XLR lead, Hereters 1oz lead, Kent bizmuth 7/8oz and maybe a couple of others. I haven't found any of the Win Bismuth locally. I do have 3" lead Fiocchi in hand. Can test that also.

Great video, are you selling your developed loads yet?

Yes, I have a few loads available in 28ga. I just sent a batch off and precision will have them on Monday. Will be 15 additional loads split equally between 410 and 28ga. You can purchase data at my website. bullet225ho.com

Great videos! I was curious, what type of material are you using as your patterning board? It looks almost plastic to me?
