My grandfather ran a 200 acre farm with an International W4 and Allis B. My Father and I ran our own farm plus 2 other 100 acre farms with a Cockshutt 30 and BF Minneapolis and neither were never short of horsepower. Dad even ran a Case 1 row corn harvester with the Cockshutt. Don't ever underestimate the power of small tractors!
I have a new holland 271 and 68 both with a Wisconsin, I think they're rated for 18 when they were new. I'm definitely down a bunch of power on the 68 though.
A great video of a young man learning about haying. The ol 14T performed like I remember. Missing an occasional bale, almost picking up all of the hay, vibrating the pto when you make the curves. Hopefully you found most of the grease zerts and the knotters keep functioning. Don't break any needles and have a sack of shear pins. Check the oil in the gear box. Good luck.
Thanks, l’ve ran it the past 7 or so years, the pto in the corners is a little annoying though and I’ve got a bag of sheer bolts haven’t broke too many the past couple years. Yep got to keep the grease and oil topped up!
A 3032E is overkill!* We pull our NH 66 with an 8N or 2025R (both basically the same power) and the Deere handles it great. */s, actually probably a pretty great size for a small baler, the 2025 is about the minimum I’d want to use for a light old ~2k lb baler running at 70 strokes a minute.
I know an old vid, but I've been haying with a Kioti 2510 (24hp PTO) and a NH 315 baler for 2 years now (about 1500 bales per year).. Hays just as well as anything else, and the 315 is bigger than this 14T.
I've run a baler with a 78 hp tractor using the 1000 rpm P.T.O . with the tractor engine running about 1100 rpm to get the required 540 rpm P.T.O. speed. No issues at all (Mind you that wasn't doing any hill climbing!)
Thanks bud for this video, you did a great job! Im looking at a 14t to buy for a grand. The guy said its the best baler he ever owned, he’s selling because hes too old to keep haying. I plan to bale mostly straw. Have you baled straw with your 14t? God Bless You Too!
I made a mistake hitting keys, but behind the baler, we had 2 guys on a hay rack stacking them up as they came out. The A was and still is a workhorse without all the new stuff.
Any tractor can run any equipment if people take there time and slow down hell ive killed a many of 200 horse power deeres pulling 7 and 8 shank plows u can even overload big tractors
