I really enjoyed the fact that we could see a four stroke, in action, do real hard enduro. The reality for some of us is that a 2T is not an option... only a 4T is allowed on the road to the trails. Thanks!

I love how this showcased the importance of working with gas and clutch. Anson does not have the grace and wealth of technique Rich has, but he was able to modulate the gas and slip the clutch so precisely, he found the traction, kept it right at the edge and got through. Hearing how important these controls are is one thing, seeing it here really opened my eyes. Plus, learning this will help in every motorcycle discipline.

I run a dual sport for my hard enduro rig. I have to say, having a rad fan on my bike is a genuine treat. I also love having a coolant expansion tank. I do pay for all of this heavily with weight, as the bike is sitting around 280-ish wet. She definitely isn't my ol' YZ250, but it is truly awesome to just ride to where you want to ride.

Great video and instruction. I'm sure Anson would've found it a lot easier on this low traction technical terrain if his bike had a regular clutch. Personally I'd be scared sh*tless doing steep climbs like this with an auto-clutch!

Yea the rekluse has its down side but after a month of testing it’s the only way to keep the bike running, with out the clutch the battery dies in 2 hours or so because of so much start stop and stalling, but with the rekluse it can go all day without killing the battery It’s definitely a bit of a give and take

Placing your front tire uphill also puts your rear tire more perpendicular to the downhill direction, which generally better from a traction perspective
@garthlundquist3623
@garthlundquist3623 8 месяцев назад
The 500 with the autoclutch is easier to learn on but will definitely limit your progression. The autoclutch addresses the low speed stalling issue nicely, lets you run a gear high for maximum traction on slippery surfaces, and importantly lets you run a left hand rear brake. I’m good on the 500 in the gnar but still better on my 300 with the assistance of the Clake One Light Clutch.

very cool videos. Nice work by everyone, even down to the videography and sound effects! Keep these coming! I really can't image how hard it would be to do those things with 1: an auto clutch!? I heard rekluse and rolling back so i'm assuming that's an auto clutch in there. I guess i've never used one but i wonder how hard it is to lug with low rpm and also feather the clutch manually. and 2: being 5'6" tall. I struggle super hard with this stuff and i'm 6'4" ! I couldn't imagine how much harder it is to find balance with that extra bit of distance to the ground. Kudos to Anson!

Love seeing the 4t I’m running the Sherco 3004t with rekluse and I love it on single track but when I get into hard enduro situations the rekluse is great so u don’t flameout going that slow but it’s also hindering when trying to get that front end up or when it wants to roll backwards. I’ll take the hindrance over the flame out. Ideally u want a 2t for that stuff but run what u got.

Awesome to see Anson tackling the hard Android series on the thumper... and pulling off a top 30 finish!!! I imagine it's going to be really tough keeping the bike cool when the temps are hotter in the upcoming hard Enduro rounds. Curious if Anson is doing anything other than just running a radiator fan to keep things from boiling over? Using something like Engine Ice? I've killed my battery before in the tight stuff because my radiator fan was kicking in so much... even with engine ice.

I had a ktm 450 xcfw, and it had the rekluse on it when i got it, other than boiling over and being stupid fast it did well, I had to have the fan running still to keep the coolant in the tank, an overflow might have helped with that as well though.

I would say a 350 would be better suited for Hard Enduro and Endurocross. That’s why 350s have won so many Enduro cross championships. 450s and 500s are more prone to stalling overheating. With some gearing changes and yes, no auto clutch, this 350 would be dialed.
