Follow MprooV on Twitter / mproovapp #agadmator By winning in round 6 Levon Aronian (Armenia) and Magnus Carlsen (Norway) increased their lead at the FIDE Candidates' Tournament to 1.5 points. The score was opened by Carlsen who beat Peter Svidler (Russia) from the black side of a Closed Ruy Lopez. Aronian profited from a blunder by Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan) in the 7th hour of play. In a Closed Catalan, Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) sacrificed an exchange and then a piece, but despite getting into time trouble yet again, Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) defended well and held the draw. Alexander Grischuk (Russia) and Boris Gelfand (Israel) drew an exciting 3.Bb5 Sicilian.

I see so many other RU-vidrs using extensive video editing to chop together segments to keep their dialogue flowing continuously at a steady pace to keep the video full of non-stop action. It's so nice to see that you're able to create quality videos time and time again and just flow naturally from start to finish. This is truly your calling, Antonio. You provide great value for humanity on a daily basis and we all appreciate it. :)

I agree totally with the assessment behind playing Ra5. Silman gave a nice chapter in a book on attack about how many pieces you need around your opponent's king to checkmate him which allows you to quickly asses without concrete analysis the likelihood of mate being there. If you are one piece short of this the best you can get is a draw by repetition.

I don't know why but I enjoyed this game more than most. Maybe because Kramnik had such a great attacking idea, but Ivanchuk always found the best moves to defend. Just goes to show you its not enough to have a good idea, sometimes the position itself is just not enough to create a win. The wonders of chess Now I wish I could take that snippet of wisdom and translate it into being good at chess!
