I have the koda 12 and always wanted the wood function! Plus having the door in front really helps to heat it up faster. Now I gotta sell mine to get this. Great! Haha

I have the Karu 16 and like to cook with wood also. I get my temps up to the 850 as you say and in the 60 seconds, my crust is black after the 60 seconds. Any suggestions? Also, heating up the oven with wood takes about an hour for me. The gas takes about 20 to 30 minutes, but doesn't taste the same (probably only in my mind).

I have a Fyra. The oven is ready to go in 20 min or less using wood pellets. Maybe you could use wood pellets to heat up an wood to keep the flame.

It's taken us quite a bit of experimentation but here what I think works best: I typically do lump charcoal + wood when I use wood. The mix maintains a more consistent temperature and heats up quicker. Also, I make sure there's no large flames from wood chunks when the pizza goes in. Otherwise, the heat in the back is too extreme. Final tips: 1) Use a slotted peel that allows you to shake the pizza a bit before sliding it into the oven. 2) Make sure no sugars or oils in the dough. That can also make it burn. Tips for gas: 1) When using gas, have it up to the max while heating up the stone and oven. When the pizza goes in, lower the flame to low or slightly above low. You can always raise it up at the end to get the toppings crisper as needed. 2) Turn up to high between pizzas

I think you can regulate the temperature by slightly closing off the chimney. I also saw on another film not to over stack the tray with wood and charcoal.

In this video, the oven is lit with wood and charcoal. 🔥 As for gluten-free dough, it might take a little longer to cook - but it really depends on your recipe and preference. We always recommend staying close by and keeping a watchful eye on your pizza. 🍕

You can use gas with the Kari 12G with the gas attachment or you can use wood/charcoal! In this video Kristian is using wood!

Problem with Ooni is - It takes 30 minutes to preheat. Then 3 minutes to bake first pizza. Then refuel and wait for 8 minutes to go back to high temp. Then bake second pizza for another 3 minutes. Again refuel and wait for 8 minutes. So it takes roughly 1 hour to bake 2 pizzas. Tbh Ooni is not way to go unless you use gas version. Even that is questionable.

You are right. I can do a frozen pizza in the house oven in 10 minutes after waiting 15 minutes to heat up the oven . Then pop in another one after waiting 5 minutes to get heat back up then wait 10 minutes to cook that one. Total of 40 minutes. And much better pizza.

Let's ignore that the pizza took 60 seconds to cook in the video and assume it takes 3 minutes on average (it doesn't). 30 minute pre-heat + 3 minute bake + 8 minute re-heat + 3 minute bake = 44 minutes. In roughly 1 hour, that's 3-4 pizzas. If you like frozen pizza, go for it, but it's not the same as an Ooni pizza (and that's OK).
