In this video Isaiah Washington (Zay Knives) forges a blade out of 1075 high carbon steel in under 2 hours! This was done in preparation for a competition called The Battle of the Bladesmiths, where 4 knife makers compete to make a knife in under 2 hours. The crowd votes the winner. Isaiah was in the competition last year and came in second place, with a whole year of experience he is ready to take the first place prize.

My name is Isaiah Washington, I am 20 years old from Auburn Maine. I have been making knives for 3 years, the past year an a half I have been making knives full time. I intern at a local blacksmiths school here in Auburn. My goal is to create the finest working and most beautiful knives I can create.
