Grade retention does not help a child at all! It affects there self esteem immediately. Tutoring or summer school should be advised for kids whom are falling behind.
I am having the opposite problem. The school wants to make my daughter skip kindergarten even though she is not too old legally and she is only scoring in the 2nd percentile. She has a speech impediment and is small for her age. I don’t understand why they are doing this.
