How does it affect cornering and handling though? Does it make it worse?

Depends on how you ride, tbh. I don't drag knees through corners. In fact, I am about to order my extended swingarm here in the next few weeks. Here is a vid I did while riding after lowering. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M868g8B_xp0.html I will tell you this...a 2 inch drop will require an extended swingarm, or the lower part of the shock will be banging on the swingarm all the time.

You lowered it more on the back than the front? You've screwed up the geometry of the bike. You do not need to get both feet down on a bike. Tilt it 5 degrees at a stop and put that foot down...just like the kickstand. That's a lot better than hacking the geometry. I knew a dude who was 5 foot even who rode a standard R1, he basically just hopped halfway off at stops. Almost no one can flat foot MX bikes and they get ridden all the time.

Based on the way I ride, why does it still handle in the corners nicely?
