This is a fantastic example of how useful current AI models are when applied to anything needing any level of specialist knowledge - that is to say, not really. To avoid attracting the ire of AI bros I'm just going to say this was actually better than I was expecting, and leave it as that. Also this must be one of the first times I recall hearing you ask people to subscribe and definitely the first I recall hearing you say anything about the notificationbell

Fun fact- chat gpt actually knows that some models are older and some are newer, for example if you ask chat gpt ‘write me a script for a sam’sTrains video and include what should be seen on screen’ and add ‘make it about the accurascale class 66’ it knows that its fairly new, and if you ask chatgpt ‘make it about the lima class 37’ it says: ‘lets take a trip down memory lane’ and ‘it has just the essentials and no extra detail’ So it does know to a certain degree, but still 80% of the stuff it says is just made up.

As someone who isn't familiar with your videos, the script doesn't seem bad. In fact, I'd say it was remarkably well done, for an AI which can't even see the models that it's supposed to be describing. There were still some obvious errors though, and the ChatGPT was clearly just making stuff up based on what other people have said in model locomotive reviews rather than basing its statements on information about these specific models (though, also, I wouldn't expect ChatGPT to have access to specific information about the design and build quality of these exact models). I think it did better than I would have, as I don't have much context for things to point out, while ChatGPT is at least aware of things that would normally be highlighted in a locomotive review, even if it gets the details wrong. After watching a couple of your other videos for comparison though, it's obvious that you do a better job of scripting videos yourself. ChatGPT can reformulate reviews it's seen before and present mostly-vaguely-accurate descriptions of features, but it completely lacks the actual understanding and passion of an enthusiast. Even if all of the errors in this video had been corrected and the anecdotes and comments directly comparing the AI script to your own videos were removed, your own writing style is more engaging. ChatGPT's presentation style is actually better than I expected it would be, but it's still pretty generic and uninspired.
@joshslater2426
@joshslater2426 Месяц назад
This was a funny video, but one I would never want to be a recurring thing. I have no idea what you fed the AI, but I like how it gives details that aren’t correct (like praising the weathering that doesn’t exist). The AI clearly didn’t grasp your style, as it didn’t even do a history of the loco or a final rating.
@rambledogs2012
@rambledogs2012 Месяц назад
I reckon you should do another one but include as much detail as possible as the script request was extremely basic for it to actually know what you fully wanted out of it.

2:51 I would like to note that a tuned class motor would effect everything. Yes weight plays a role mechanically, but a torque tuned motor will perform drastically different from a speed tuned motor..... Although this is highly dependent on what kind of motor your locomotive uses.... For you in the UK this is similar to a 3 pole motor vs a 5 pole. Except there are many more options that can effect performance drastically

Can you get AI to design a British locomotive?

my general perception is that 'creative AI' has little concept of context (for example AI images where hands have 6 fingers more often then you care to count and AI text to speech making a mess of acronyms) edit, still thx for this experiment Sam 🙂

For a laugh find an item listed on the bay of E where its hyperbolic and frankly ridiculous AI description bot has been asked to do its stuff. Interestingly the terminology and turn of phrase used by both is rather similar. I guess they must be related!

to quote Alpha 5: "Ai Ai Ai" Problem is that the computer would have to actually have functional knowledge of the channel to accurately emulate the context in which this channel operates - it would HAVE to watch all the past video in chronological order taking note of the evolution over time to make decent jab at it. As it is the thing just judged the task at hand by generic model understanding and forma of any hobbyist moddelers that it dose have full records for. Chat GPT specifically has like 2 years delay on knowing things too, sure it would be given important information and major events but nothing realy up to date about model trains. the best way i found to use it (i am amateur writer) is to fact check and logical / internal consistency verification. the less it has to make up the better.

That was an interesting video. AI has a long way to go before accurately replicating actual human interactions. Anyway, Happy railroading!

Chat GPT is using text input from 2 years ago. Just ask it about it's information and it will tell you.
