This was my first video. After some research the inferno seem to be the best bet. I decided on this because its hidden behind the dash and after installing a inferno bypass valve it puts out heat at around 130 - 140 degrees after about 15 minutes of idling. Because of the 2 piece windshield the defrost vents don't work as they should which is another reason we put the round vents by the cup holders. Its advised to use aluminum foil tape to secure all the connections to prevent the connections coming apart.
I forgot to mention that the directions were very good with colored pictures. Also replace the hose clamps that come with the kit with quality ones. These stripped out pretty easy. I used 1/2 shut off valves from menards to keep the hot coolant from entering the heater core in the summer time
Yes, the windshield should removed or lifted up, the dash where you need to cut is already preformed so it's pretty thin. A sharp utility blade works great
This project putting in a heater took about 8-10 hours, it would have been a extremely long video to make and would have taken twice as long to install, it was just easier to explain
I do have a video on those. If u go to Kerry's garage, you will find the video. Those doors are genuine can-am doors, they fit all the can-am defender models. I did install myself and they install easily. There will be some adjustments needed. It took about 10-15 minutes per door to adjust. They will close somewhat hard, but they fit snug.
There is a storage area were your right knee is. That storage box gets cut out and that is were the heater gets installed. They send a black piece of plastic to conceal the heater. There are videos on how to install these
Didn't see the question, but the heater core is directly under the center dash were the toggle switches are. Inferno did there home work. Every thing fit nicely.
The unit is mounted under the dash just in front of your right knee. There's the storages area that gets cut out then covered with a piece of black plastic. It's really a nice detailed kit that inferno put together. I'll make a video soon on the location of the unit
