I owned a renegade 1000 and a renegade 800 at the same time,and that 800 was faster than my 1000. The 1000 would tear up some shit. But that 800 man oh man.
Same thing for outlander I went get 1000 thinking I would smash my friends 800 outlander! No no buddy 800 whipped my ass I guess it’s because I had xmr with those heavy ass tires and rims he didn’t
You also got lower gears to compensate for those big tires. Any non xmr 800 will blow past on the trails or roads. Maybe even 650s that aremt xmr but i aint sure. My cousin had a sportsman 450 that topped out at 93 kmh and my brothers xmr 1000 tops out at 60 mph or 100 kmh. So who knows.
Like dude said, depends on gear ratio with those to being compared. I’ve rode both, not at the same time but the 1000 is a fucking animal and I don’t really seeing being this close if they had same setup
