I’ve had my 2019 Can-Am Maverick Sport for five years now, and it’s been quite the adventure machine. With 4,000 miles on the odometer, I’ve had plenty of time to get to know its strengths and weaknesses.
What I Like:
Performance: The 100-horsepower Rotax V-Twin engine delivers impressive power and acceleration. Whether I’m tackling steep inclines or cruising through open trails, the Maverick Sport handles it all with ease1.
Suspension: The Fox Podium 2.0 shocks provide a smooth ride, even on rough terrain. The 11.5 inches of front travel and 12 inches in the rear make a noticeable difference in comfort and control2.
Handling: The 60-inch width offers a stable and balanced ride. The Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) system is a game-changer, making it easy to maneuver through tight trails and around obstacles2.
Comfort: The cockpit is spacious and well-designed. The high-back bolstered seats and adjustable steering wheel make long rides more enjoyable1.
Durability: After 4,000 miles, the Maverick Sport has proven to be reliable and tough. It has held up well against the elements and the wear and tear of frequent use1.
What I Dislike:
Display: The small digital display can be hard to read, especially in bright sunlight. A larger, more visible screen would be a welcome improvement3.
Storage: While the built-in storage is handy, it’s somewhat limited. Additional storage options would be beneficial for longer trips2.
Noise: The engine can be quite loud, which might be a downside for some riders. Ear protection is a good idea for extended rides2.
Maintenance Access: Although maintenance items are relatively easy to access, the process can still be a bit cumbersome. A more user-friendly design would be appreciated1.
Overall, the 2019 Can-Am Maverick Sport has been a fantastic companion on my off-road adventures. Its performance, handling, and durability make it a standout in its class, despite a few minor drawbacks.
