I have a 2021 RT limited. It is a great ride and corners exceptionally well around town. But living in Colorado, I do miss leaning when I get into the mountain twisties. I have no problem keeping up with other motorcycles in the twisties, I just don't get to lean. The seat with a backrest is more comfortable than the Goldwing I traded in for it,
I have a 2012 RT Limited, V twin. I’m about to swap it out for the 2023 or 2024 model. I think the secret with cornering on the spider is that you still have to transfer your weight going into corners to keep the inner wheel on the ground. The anti-rollover protection, ABS and traction and stability system. Will look after you but to get the best out of the bike. You must learn to transfer your weight into corners. Please all great continent crossing bikes though.
I just completed an 1800km trip to New Brunswick on my 2022 RT Sea-to-Sky and it is a touring beast! In the rain and through construction zones in Quebec, the handling was fantastic, my wife and I always felt safe, even with the rain. FYI, the front glove box locks up when you lock the steering. Great review! Cheers!
We have a 2022 Spyder Rt ltd , & really love it . Has all the bells & whistles that we need, don’t see the need to pay more money to get the sea to sky! Have done a few upgrades mainly to the visual lighting changing out the reflectors to lights & installing a better sway bar which has improved the handling for the better! We take it everywhere when we go camping towing it behind our motor home on a stinger trailer purpose made for the Spyder ! We get lots of comments from people when we’re out with it mostly good, but there is still bikers who don’t like us!!! But we don’t care & just get on with enjoying the ride! Regards Stephen & Pauline, Alberta Canada.
Just purchased a RT Ltd yesterday. Now I get to stare at it for the next 6 months.....until the snow goes away. Oh, well, that will give me time to accessorize it. Great video.
Just solld my 15 streetglide for one in blue ..have been kicking around this or trike..in my mid 50,s..the knees aren't what they used to be..looking forward to it.
Are there any engine preparations to increase the Spyder's power? Can you change the position of the handlebars and use a handlebar that is closer to the driver and lower when you are very short? please. THANKS.
It's more expensive than I want it to be, but when you look at the tech in this bike and compare it to top of the line touring motorcycles, it's hard to say it's overpriced for what it is. The Ryker exists for people who want a lower priced option. You can option it up to do quite a bit too.
I just subscribed to your channel. Love your reviews. I currently own a 2020 ryker rally, but looking to get a 2024 spyder rt or f3t. Can you do a review on a f3t? Thanks for the review on the RT
I'll definitely be reviewing the entire Can Am lineup for 2024. The F3 should be coming soon. As soon as I have access, I'll review it, and there will be future driving reviews of them as well when the weather turns here in Eastern Canada.
Most bikes will keep the revs low for efficiency in a higher gear, but if you drop a gear or two, you'll put the engine in its power band. Basically, if an engine is rated for 100 horsepower, and you're out on the highway in top gear, you may only be driving at a rev range that gives you 30 horsepower. Dropping a couple of gears can make the engine rev higher where it may be making 80 horsepower. That will allow you to accelerate much quicker to make the pass in less time. Great question. Thanks for asking!
Can you buy luggage that fits in the luggage compartments from the manufacturer or would you have to just go out and find something that fits, nice bike for touring it looks very comfortable for those long rides out and being able to listen to some music as you drive along is a bonus.
Very nice and informative,I'm becoming more and more of a fan of this vehicle that they don't want to call a motorcycle or bike so I'm just going to say vehicle but it just makes sense to me
Prices can change often and are different around the world. You can always use the link in the video to see up to date pricing, or check out the manufacturer's website in your country for the correct MSRP for your region.
Yes do a full video on the instrument panel. I think it’s really needed to show perspective buyers all the in and outs of what if can do besides drive.
I'll cover some of that next time. You may have noticed a lot of background noise at times in this video. I was filming near a truck service center and there was a lot of truck noises that would have interefered.
I’m already sold on the RT as my secondary vehicle, next to my car. Yet, your overview of the Spyder was the best I’ve heard yet. It was extremely educational, and it made me look forward to buying the Spyder even more.
I kinda wish there was more dealerships near me for spyders, have to ride anywhere from 1 to 2hrs to get one can get frustrating at times, awesome video I always enjoy watching videos on spyders
Hi Peter, this was a top-notch review, very extensive! I bought a new ‘22 in a crate this year. Amazing machine. I went for the RT Ltd. Adds the rear topcase & also the heated seats for rider and passenger, heated passenger grips & 2 rear speakers. I did two separate 1,600km trips and I average 42-44mpg imperial. Still have my 2-wheelers, but this is the king of long distance travel! Thanks again.
I have a ‘21 and a ‘22 Spyder RTL and would love to know how the heck you are getting that kind of mileage. That number is so far above my average it seems implausible. I average at best about 30 mpg.
I mentioned to the dealer today that I always find things that I love when I visit dealers and do these videos, but EVERY time that I spend time with a Spyder or Ryker, I don't just love them, I want them. They're so, so good!!
