This is our first ride 2 up on Nicoles new Can Am Spyder RT.
We drove it on the scenic Highway 1 along the Oregon Coast all the way down to Tillamook.
Just enjoy this first epic ride with us. This is life, when it is best!

Welcome to the CanAm world. You covered everything but how to stop. It takes a while for a seasoned motorcyclist to get used to no hand brake.

Lol .. Yes you are right, didn't think of that. I know exactly what you mean. I ride a Harley myself, so it is a bit different riding a Spyder. No clutch, gear shifter or hand brake. But I really enjoyed trying to ride Nicoles Spyder. That machine is awesome (might have to get one myself now).

Thanks a lot for leaving a comment and subscribing. Oh my - a Sea To Sky is an amazing machine - pure luxury. Hope we can meet you out on the road one day. As we just moved here from Colorado, we are trying to get familiar with the Spyder community here in the Pacific North West. It is always nice to get in contact with other good people with the same interests.

Thank you very Michael Christopher 🙂 Yes - the Spyder is an amazing motorcycle. We had a very spring drive yesterday from Seaside over the mountains to Hillsboro. From there in small twistiest down to Tillamook and back on Highway 1 up to Seaside. 7 hours on the road and it was just a breeze. Video will be posted Monday 🙂

Congrats, I have a 2014 Spyder SE5 with a backrest and luggage bags. You all will truly enjoy this marvel of modern engineering. Kudos and props to BRP and their decision to not become a Harley clone!

Thanks Gary! Yes - the Spyder is an awesome motorcycle. We might actually buy a second one, so we can each drive a Spyder. It would have to be an older used one, as we just spent a lot on the one we bought. But is seems, that they are very reliable, even the older ones 🙂

A little late to the party but Huge Congratulations, it was a pleasure watching your video's inc picking up Nicoles new RT, so big a smile, made me smile for you both. With April 10 approaching to say I'm getting a little nervous is an understatement, I had to give up two wheels 26 years ago due to a number of reasons inc my eldest being born who I never wanted to follow in my two wheel foot steps, too many deaths of friends & acquaintances & having serious spinal injuries after a coming together with the tarmac. I've been thinking about a spyder for a long time & my brother (ex biker too) has one in NZ so I've taken a huge leap of faith & ordered an F3s so when he visits in July he can leave his hire car with us & go walkabout on my spyder for a few days (fingers crossed he isn't reading this post) I'm not going to tell him so I cant wait to see his face when I give him the keys.. I did think about the RT but swinging my leg over the luggage was a hilarious fail & with my broken body I'm pretty sure long distance touring isnt an option but who knows never say never & if it does work out then I can always move onto an RT. The one element I didnt consider at the time that you have so graphically demonstrated is rear visibility, there's no mistaking someone is in front of you with the RT & the rear lights on the side pods & around the floor boards. Fingers crossed someone will not hit me from behind, Im going to order the BrakeFreeTech helmet lights & hopefully that will help. The consequences of a rear end shunt is something I dont want to imagine. Anyway, take care out there & wishing you both health & happiness !!

Hi Mike! That is really awesome, that you are getting a Spyder as well. They are truly amazing pieces of machinery. Since they came out, I believe a lot of people get to ride motorcycles. They are much more stable an easier to handle than a 2 wheeled motorcycle. The pleasure of riding it still the same - just so much fun. We might actually also buy a F3, so that we each have a Spyder. The F3 is really awesome as well.😀

Hi Linda! Wow - that was a long trip from Texas to Florida. But I bet it was really nice to drive the new Spyder and get it tested out. I hope we also can go on some longer trips in the future (that is our plan at least). But we are so fortunate to live right by Highway 1, so we have the opportunity to take some really nice drives along the ocean. Thanks for your tip about mounting from the passenger foot rest - will try that for sure :-)

Hi Christopher! Yes - we absolutely love the Spyder. It is a very nice motorcycle - especially for longer trips. We already make plans for some nice trips with it - maybe all the way up to Alaska in the summer of 2024.🙂

Congratulations on you the new Spyder! Can you tell me which jacket/pants and helmet you are wearing. Thanks, for sharing you Spyder information.
@OldWestGirl
@OldWestGirl Год назад
The helmet is a Klim helmet made from poly carbon and is super lightweight (bought at Pro Caliber). It is the modular version with transition in the visor. Jacket is a Bilt, from Cycle Gear. Pants are Street & Steel from Cycle Gear, with knee pads and carbon fiber lining. Boots are Sedici from Cycle Gear, all leather and water proof. Gloves are Sedici from Cycle Gear.

@@knightshadow1894 That is so awesome, that you will be riding as well. Compared to where we came from in Colorado, it is so mild weather here by the coast. So we will try to get some good rides in even a winter time. It can be a bit cold, but with layers of clothes under the riding gear, it actually works really well.

Hi John! Yes - I bought it at Pro Caliber in Vancouver, Washington. We did meet both Kelly and Shaun Smoaks. They are just as awesome and nice people in real life, as the seem to be in their videos.
