Thanks dude 🤘this is why I’m posting to my channel. There’s so many expert and pro riders floating effortlessly over jumps and gaps. For me they’re still scary! So I want to show what an average old guy can do in the hope it’ll be relevant to others. This is actually so well built it’s easy and massively confidence inspiring. If you can clear the ac/dc jumps, you’ve got this 100% 🤘🤘
Thanks bud. 😀 You’re right with the shift in mental state. I don’t think I was consciously aware of this at the time but looking back, it made a positive difference to my riding for three rest of the day! Just goes to show it’s all in the head! 🤣
Thank you! 👍 we’ve only been working on jumps for a couple of years and definitely a work in progress. Where are you from? BPW is about 2 1/2 hours from us but there’s a few more local places, although not at good! 🤘😀
It took Kara Beal 6 years to be able to do this line so it shows it’s all in the mind, also I saw a kid about 13 do this line easy so I think it’s definitely a fear factor, you did good 👍🏾
Thank you 🙏. Yeah 100% agree it’s the fear factor. I think the first 6 months or so of learning to jump, all those sketchy moments.. they stick in the mind long afterwards. Getting this one was a big confidence booster. I feel better knowing Kara took 6 years! She shreds on the jumps 👍🤘
@@888-mtb first time I went BPW I hit enter the Dragon and went straight otb on the second huge jump luckily the bike was ok 👍🏾..Santa Cruz 5010 definitely not the best park bike of choice!😂
Enjoy the journey mate 😀. I’ve been riding for years but never really into jumps until the last 2 years when my lad got into biking. He pushes my limits!! Have fun bud 👍👍
My pleasure! Glad it was helpful. I need to be able to visualise making a jump before I’ll commit to it! 😂 probably a good thing but my head game holds me back sometimes..
@@888-mtb getting into it v late (mid 50s) my head is in some ways my biggest obstacle (and technique and fitness) so I fully understand. There’s so much stuff that is pure shredding that it’s nice to see mortals at work:) awsome job you did though, I can barely gap a couple of feet. Cheers !!
@@mattd2129thank you for the kind words. This is exactly why I continue to upload my very average riding escapades! Like you say, there’s so many shredders on RU-vid which is great and really impressive, but it doesn’t help me get an understanding of whether I could ride the trail/feature etc. I’m 51 now and still learning all the time.. just takes a bit longer to convince myself to send! 😂 Keep on shredding bud and stay safe 👍👍
@@stuartdouglass01 I wasn’t going to try it. Then I did ac/dc jumps and came back, after that I could visualise it like a table top and went for it. Once you’ve done it you’ll love it. It’s easier than it looks!
Congrats on getting all of them 🤘Thanks for the tips! I found the corners are tricky to carry enough speed, had to put a few pedals in before the third jump. Did you take a high line then pump down as you come out?
@888-mtb No probs, the vid is on my channel. So I go easy over the first two, keeping to the right for the berm going fairly high. Then to the left on the gap before the berm, again going high ish. Couple of pedals to clean the next gap then you're good for the Booter 😃 It took me quite a while to be honest. Cased the big one first few times before I got the flow.
@@OldBeanMTBthank you for the tips and for your video, that’s really helpful. I’ll give it a go on the next trip. We are off to Dyfi tomorrow.. not gonna lie, feeling a bit intimidated 😮👍🤘
