Learn how design is changing the picture of breast cancer for good through a surprising and powerful visual metaphor to educate and save lives through early detection. This talk will have you rethink the ways we traditionally communicate the topic of cancer and why "design doctors" should be an integrated part of the healthcare system. It may even save your life! Dr. Corrine Ellsworth-Beaumont (MFA PhD), uses her skills as a designer to save lives from breast cancer. She is the CEO and Founder of the global nonprofit Know Your Lemons Foundation (knowyourlemons.org). Corrine has been featured on CNN, BBC News, and ITV as well as various radio stations and publications. She’s an advisor to the World Health Organization’s Global Breast Cancer Initiative. Women all over the world have attributed their early diagnosis of breast cancer to her ground-breaking work. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
