A Glaswegian described this drink to me as "what we drink, before we start drinking". Also it's funny, i went on a school trip to Buckfast Abbey, we spoke to a pretty cool monk. Though being 12 i only bought back some nice strawberry jam from the gift shop.

I went on a school trip there as well, I only live a half hour drive from there though! Been there tons of times, I think it’s so cool that a drink from there is so well known … embarrassingly I still haven’t tried it!

I know a Scottish bloke that moved to rural Somerset. The whole village is full of pensioners but he wanted to say hello. He built a budget burning man festival and invited the whole village, but bring a bottle. He waited till everyone had a few and the walked around topping everyone up with chilled Bucky. Best friends with everyone now 😂

I love it. The Scots send the English (and the world) fine malts sculpted over time and the English, through monks in Devon send the Scots a fairly cheap tonic wine. Bucky isn't that popular in England. Joking aside, Bucky is actually alright, not sure I'd want a sesh on it.

Best enjoyed straight from the bottle clothed in a wrinkled brown paper bag out in the alley next to the pub after a coupla pints of strong IPA. Goes down especially smooth in an area where it's banned.
