I spit out my coffee when you hit that single tree with miles of open space on both sides. It really hit home because thats something I would surely do.

The weather is a bit different and its been dry for a couple of weeks so the course is running more. Its not a true comparison. However, the pros get paid millions because they are good and we are amateurs because we are not as good.

Was literally going to post the same. Yes the conditions are different but pro golfers are just UNBELIEVABLE compared to all us amateurs. Even a scratch golfer would be propping up a leaderboard in the Scots Championship. Different game altogether

My wife had the exact same reaction the first time she played in this kind of weather after moving to the UK from Southen Cali. Always amusing as a Brit who grew up playing in these conditions to see the reactions of people who live and play in much more pleasant conditions. I do however love and respect your honesty for showing every shot and a true round. So many youtube channels smell of editing rounds to make it look better.

Even though you haven't yet I still appreciate the psychological aspects you share during the round. Love the content EAL.

Man.... that was rough! Thanks for having the courage to post this. It reminded me that not so long ago a 95 at my favorite muni would've had me first pumping like Tiger on the 18th. Golf is a special game. I appreciate the effort you put in to making it more accessible to everyone. You do a really good job capturing all of the things that make golf so special. The conversations and banter in between shots where you strengthen bonds and break down barriers. The exhilarating moments of victory that you carry in your heart forever as well as the moments of defeat that humble you and strengthen you mentally. I just feel you allow people in to see those personal moments that really make this game what it is. Anyways I'm rambling but this was a real one... put things in perspective for me. Thanks again!

These vlogs make you more relatable than you already are. Who doesn't feel your pain watching this? I rarely play anything over 7,000 yards. Last time was in Mesquite NV., 7,600 yds dessert course. Got to 13 and wanted to go home. Playing like this occasionally, gives you perspective of just how good the pro's really are. Even in perfect conditions this track still would have been a major challenge. Kudos for hanging in there and for filming your frustration. So much respect! If you wonder why I watch this type of video it’s because of the last hole. Golf can beat you up and get you down then for what ever stupid reason it gives you a hug and sends you on the way reminding you that even when we are at our lowest in life there is always a glimmer of hope to just keep moving forward. Thanks for doing the Vlog Eric I know it was tough but it made my day when you birdied 18.

It's this kind of content that brings me back to your channel, Eric. I love this authentic stuff and you aren't selling anything or producing fluff. And this video is why golf is great because every time you step up to the tee you cultivate the feeling that you can go low or hell, even bogey every hole if that's relative success for you. If you shoot triple bogeys on every hole except for one that you par, you know you are capable of doing that. That's what brings us back to the game. Golf stands the test of time as a true challenge in a world where satisfaction and a feeling of success can be bought or sold and immediate gratification is the norm. Keep it up, Eric. I'd love to get a round in if you ever decide to come to Massachusetts.

Erik, it was a triumph over adversity. We are used to playing in these conditions, glad you found the rain gloves, they save you from the cold in Summer. Irony is it was probably lovely weather the next day. I empathise as a golfer who plays max once a month, I have such great anticipation each time I tee up, but rhythm & timing seem to be mistresses of the practise swing alone. What a birdie to finish though. Loved the fact you shred it. Thanks Rod

I just feel like if you always come in with the mindset of “trying to break 90,” then you’ll always find yourself around that score, whether you break it or not. If you’re capable of shooting in the 70s, then come in trying to break 80. Maybe you succeed, maybe not, but I guarantee you that you’d shoot far better than 90 with that mindset. Set your goals high, and settle for a better than expected reality.

Great video Erick the OB or lost ball rule you are looking for is the local rule new to 2019. You can still use the old rule go back to where you hit the ball and take one stroke. The local rule you estimate where It went OB or was lost take it back to the edge of the fairway take to clubs and drop no closer to the hole taking a two stroke penalty.
