I have a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 that is 20-30 years old that a friend gave me recently still in the box/tin. It tastes so much better than recently bottled scotch. I am thinking the whiskey craze over the last 15 years pushed distillers to hold back barrels they used to include in their bottlings. It's a really tasty bottle to me.

Could be the whiskey was better, could be your palate just really enjoys the changes time brings to a bottle. Either way you have an enjoyable bottle and that is all that matters.

Another great video that checks a couple of boxes of interest for me. I've always been fascinated by tasting vintage bottles of whiskey; just like drinking history. It's always fun to see how these old bottles have been able to stand the test of storage and time. In addition, a couple of months ago our local whiskey group had a video tasting of several Four Roses expressions with Brent Elliot. Lots of fun and very informative. I'm looking forward to visiting the Four Roses distillery in the future and collecting more of the single barrel barrel strength recipes.

It is funny because you would expect someone with Brent's level of scientific knowledge to be dry, but he is very engaging. So much fun to interact with.

SSW is generally troll free, but the leadership team is slightly more tolerant of people having disagreements and working them out themselves than I am in BRTC.

Very interesting. I was hoping Brent Elliott would falter, but it was very unlikely. To say the least. Great video. So nice to donate that bottle to the museum so all can enjoy it.

4R barrel strength has always been my go to. Love that Brent gets to be creative with the Limited edition. We’ve gotta see more of that with the major distilleries. Great video!

They did not offer me anything, but I did get to try a 20 and 23 year old single barrel that is a possible blending component for the LE.

Great content. Always in for more 4R material and it's nice to see you & Brent share in some history together. Noticed the mention of Facebook at the end, have you ever given thought to starting a discord server? I don't have facebook but find discord to be enjoyable.

I don't know what that is. The problem we found when we looked into other platforms is it makes sense to have your platform be where the greatest number of people are already going, and has management tools to maintain culture. For better or worse that is FB.

@@robbarlow9420 The administrative controls of FB and the large number of people already using the platform make it the only logical solution for our vision. I am recommending people who hate FB create a burner account and only use it to interact in the whiskey community. Tons of members have them. If you decide to do that please let me know so I can approve you. We generally decline new accounts, especially when there isn't any identifying information because most of the time those accounts are spammers/scammers.
