Bianca has a whole team, it'll be easy Edit: Bianca's post-game team is 6 members, I misremembered. Her final team before you beat the game is only 4 pokemon. Still, a starter, an elemental monkey, Stoutland and Musharna is pretty good.
Bulbapedia: Payback inflicts damage. Its power doubles to 100 if the user moves after the target, if the target switches out, or if the opponent uses an item.
I got sick back in 2016. Blood pressure drops had me unconscious multiple times a day every day for two years. In the end it was Chronic Inflammation. It has a bunch of different symptoms that were hidden by other conditions. A combination of antihistamines and anti-inflammatories has given me a bunch of relief, and I'm at least functional now. I hope whatever you've got you're able to recover quickly and with minimal expense. Supporting your channel officially now bud. Been following for years for free, but now I'm finally in a position I can throw some coin your way. Bless you brother.
I've been struggling with a boatload of assessment at the moment, which has left me really drained & burnt out for the past several weeks. Your show is always one of the biggest joys of my week. I truly appreciate that you are making such great content, even in your current condition. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Yikes, I'm sorry about all that, man... but we're glad you're still around. Prayers for you, my man. And as for your really low Special Attack... in addition to Trubbish's Special Attack being really low to begin with, a lot of Pokemon in Black and White - especially in the early game - give Attack and Speed effort values. So most of your EVs were going to stuff other than Special Attack for most of the run. One of the many struggles of solo runs... Still, excellent job on the run. This made for a great video!
So I will mention Hone Claws boosts attack and accuracy not speed, Dragon Dance boosts those two. The speed issue on Excadrill was that Bulldoze lowers speed. What you needed was for him to pull a Winona and use the buffing move 4 times, lol. Hope you feel better!
the sig? i was cooking some chicken strips super sus like (too hot for the oven, so i was defrosting in the microwave before i grilled them outside), and i was like "holy fuck... level 64 just to beat a level 22 sig-awhatever? brutal..." and then he said 36 and i was like "????????"
28:05 You're right. Things like Payback only care about turn order, so healing makes Payback double in power. That's the same reason some competitive Starmie sets run Analytic even though Starmie's a speed demon: it gains the bonus damage when its target switches out.
I m at 8:05 like I said rest. I can’t take that advice myself but we will still be here don’t feel pressured and your health comes first. Good luck man we re here to support you.
I hope you read this - I hope you get better soon MDB I've put a few videos up on the channel expressing how you got me through some bad times and wishing you a fast recovery! I hope you get to see them one day ! Thanks for getting me through some of the bad times !
I've had a most comperable experience recently with my epilepsy. Including a refusal from neurology after I had done everything they had asked of me.. I wish you the best! And if you do ever worry, please don't. I am certain that I am not alone when I say you have helped make my life, at the very least, immeasurably better. Keep being you, a continuing aspiration and inspiration. But also I can't help but feel that you're quite like myself. Too damn stubborn for "my own good". I'd bet you know your limits. You're a person I do and/would trust. ❤
Oh, look. I am now a slice of dry bread in the loaf. Sorry, I had to. Keep doing you, dude. Whatever you can manage, I'm sure your community will roll with. Good on ya for keeping your head up during all of this. Best wishes as always; stay strong.
You are right about one thing, were here cause we like you. You were my introduction to pokemon challenge runs and when you started doing fallout and elder scrolls challenges I just geeked out cause I hadn't really considered the possibilities. This in turn lead to my most successful video, a challenge run for yu-gi-oh forbidden memories. Whatever you need to do, I know I'm not the only one who will be here when you get back to it. Best of luck you absolute star.
Actually, Stench is really good for grinding in Gen V. It lowers the chance of entering a random battle on your way to that shaking grass where the Audino are.
7:44 MDB dude please take a break and don’t kill yourself, we’re all gonna be here when you get back, I’m sure I speak for a lot of your viewers when I say we would rather you be healthy and safe than have a video to watch a day or two earlier
Best of luck with the health challenges MDB! Like most here, I'll be around for the challenges whenever they come around - here's hoping that things go well and you're back up to good health soon
@ND-nt6yw I never knew Nancy Drew games were a thing until I saw that LP. In fairness, I'm a 35 year old man so I was never the target demographic for it, so...yeah.
Yes, salt definitely helps bring it back up. When mine drops and I start to feel dizzy, I eat pretzels or a bag of chips because I don't always like adding salt to my foods.
Idea: Pokemon red but you can only use "red" pokemon. This means pokemon that are classified as red in the pokedex like Charizard or Vileplume. If you have fun with that you could also do blue pokemon for blue version and so on.
I really hope you get better soon! I'm sure you've heard about a thousand times, but we love watching you and we wish you as swift of a recovery as possible! I think I remember suggesting this challenge a couple years ago, but maybe try a game with only Horsea? I said Black and White I think before, but whatever game works best is fine lmao I know how slow BW runs are with their wacky levelling system. Good luck with life and all, I can't donate to Patreon or anything, but I'll keep watching videos as much as I can! :>
I can't believe you took the ******** fossil this time, really unexpected Also I don't know if you know but, for future gen5 runs, you can get the expert belt in the ground gym city (I think by showing sunglasses man in the market a lvl 30 or more pokemon). With the very limited type coverage it probably wouldn't have helped here, but it might someday
Since when did Hone Claws raise speed? Also he either forgot about or missed the Rocky Helmet you can get before Clay. Doubt it would’ve helped a lot but there’s that.
Toxic is one of those situationally powerful skills. With a rest/substitute style pokemon, paired with toxic it would be a lethal combo because you are running an effective stall build. I do like how acid spray was almost the poison version of rollout with how it gets stronger with every use. Too bad it resets with each new pokemon you fight. I remember one of your videos was a rollout run and it was honestly hilarious watching you squish the last 2-3 pokemon by the 5th hit type advantages be damned. With the biggest challenge being some gym eladers or elite 4 members you had to time when you started it so you could crush the problem pokemon in their lineup before they could crush you.
So a note on Toxic Spikes if you ever consider it for a future run: Setting up only one layer of Toxic Spikes to inflict regular poison may be better than setting up two layers. Regular poison deals more damage than Toxic poison over 1 or 2 turns, and deals the same damage as Toxic over 3 turns. So if you're not expecting a long battle against any of your opponent's mons, one layer will do a better job of providing the chip damage needed to secure a 1-/2-/3-shot than 2 layers. Though you also have to keep in mind that if the opponent has any Poison types that aren't Flying or have Levitate, the moment they switch in, your Toxic Spikes are removed.
I'm so sorry that you're sick, and I hope you regain your health soon! As for the Trubbish run, I think it could be fun if you used save states on near-impossible runs like these just to test how much luck you would need to actually win (e.g. how many crits and flinches would be necessary).
Good luck with your medical issues, man. We love ya. Also, on the subject of this challenge specifically, I'm surprised just how hard it was. I didn't expect that, but then again I'm not a Pokemon expert.
😅After hearing him mention the eaxtra salt at the end because doctors tell him to have eaxtra salt if his blood is bad I'm not sure why it does to me, but too much salt causes my blood pressure to drop, so if you have low blood pressure issues, extra salt might not be the best way to go on seasonings 😅
20:29 I was curious as to what IVs this Trubbish could have since it's stats seems really low comparatively. Given it's EVs are more than likely maxed out at this point, this Trubbish has an approximate grand total of 43 out of 186 total IVs. And with the stat spread I calculated, 31 of those IVs could be in Attack and the remaining 12 are in Speed; which means this Trubbish could have close to *zero* IVs in HP, Def, SpA, and SpD. Quite possibly the worst outcome for this challenge.
Can confirm, DBZ team training is a blast of a let’s play! Also people should check out the Legacy of Goku playlists, been thinking on rewatching those myself sometime in the near future!
Damn that looked like a tough one! But congrats on making it through with the adorable trash Pokémon! I have an interesting idea for a pokemon challenge! You know how you use Regigigas a lot? I have another bad legendary/mythical pokemon idea you can use: Phione! It is a pretty weak mythical pokemon from gen 4 that’s kinda of a secret pokemon? Would be interesting to see it in a play though of Platinum/HeartGold/Black!
God I love Trubbish! One of my faves, excited to watch this run! Edit: wooo glad you got that appointment moved to mid August instead of November! I hope they're able to figure out what's going on and get you on the road to managing it!
as someone who is from ontario, canada, I do totally get you, and I truly wish you the best with the housing struggles... it's hard enough to navigate with a stable job, can't imagine doing it on youtube income
Hey MDB, hope you are doing well. Been awhile since we talked! POTS is commonly comorbid with EDS so it isn’t surprising to hear that so many people are saying that is your problem. The drop in blood pressure is the most common symptom, and considering that is what people are hearing about most, thats prolly why. That and there isn’t just one type of POTS, and autonomic issues tend to get labeled as such. Good luck, and I hope you start feeling better. Give the cats a pet for me!
I am once again asking you to take the fossil opposite the one you say you took. Just to see who notices. Yes, I know he took the Dome fossil on a fossils only run when he started with Omanyte. But that is not what I mean. I mean I want to hear "I took the Root fossil" while seeing the Claw fossil being taken. Or hearing "I took the Helix fossil" while seeing the Dome fossil being taken. And to those who say that this has happened before - when? Show me! I've looked and looked and have not seen it. 8
btw, for future runs where you have access to tspikes, sometimes just laying down one layer is better than going for toxic, because with the way toxic works, it only does more total damage than regular poison after 4 turns, so often times, if you just want some extra chip to make sure you get kills, its almost better to just use one layer of tspikes and just live with normal poison.
You’ve been a regular RU-vidr for me for years now, I even got a twitter account to follow your “stupid” twitter posts. You do what you gotta do man, I’ll stick by you For anyone curious, a couple recommendations from MDB’s channel that I’ve found delightfully hilarious: Kings quests 5 and 6 Saw the video game Pokémon platinum a journey Shadow the hedgehog (albeit short) Hope everyone is having a nice day
I'll be honest I do watch these because of your voice. These are the only pokemon content I watch besides Wolfglick for competitive. You can count on me to be one view for as long as you upload these videos
I am currently engaged in a challenge that remminds me of this channel and I would love to see it here. I am playing elden rings without the elden part. The ringed finger, chain armor.... are all I am allowed to use
Random thought Are one-shot challenges possible 🤔 without any glitches or mods Examples of one-shot challenges that I'm curious about are " beat each trainer's pokemon with a single attack per pokemon " or " beat each gym leader's pokemon with a single attack per pokemon "
Pokémon Yellow with first form versions of Ash Ketchums team Pokémon any Gen with the first 6 Pokémon you find in any route, but you can’t evolve them. You can swap out after gym leaders. Pokémon Any Gen but only using RNG moves (Psywave, Magnitude, etc) Pokémon Any Gen but you can only use standard poke balls Pokémon BW2 with only Ns Pokémon Pokémon HGSS with only headbutt tree and sweet scent Pokémon Or moves with random # of attacks like Double Kick, Double Slap, Fury Cutter, etc Fallout NV with thrown melee weapons only Fallout NV with only Nuka Cola (Nuka breaker and Nuka grenades) Fallout 4 with only Thirst Zapper Fallout 4 with only Power Armror and Cryolator Fallout NV with only the dart gun Fallout 4 with only Zeta Wave Gamma Gun Fallout 4 with only Shem Drowne Sword Fallout NV with only a nailed board/baseball bat Fallout NV with only Bladed Gauntlets
If you're not feeling good enough to do the voice over maybe you could get one of your friends to step in for an episode because it could be a funny bit to have them pretending to be you for a one off while also allowing you to rest some more worry free
Love poison type pokemon - trubbish may not be the most original design but i think its kinda cute! (especially if you dont evolve it bc then it does look terrible)
I have an idea for a fun challenge, One that means you could even use Drowzee. Can you beat Pokemon Black (Or any game from gen's 5 ,6 or 7) with only the move Assist? Purrloin learns Assist at level 6 so it'd be the starter, Then if you get a male Purrloin you can breed it with other's to get more Pokemon. I think this would be a great wacky challenge since the more Pokemon on your team the more random the move is. For any that don't know Assist uses a random move known by any of the user's party Pokémon, With some exceptions. So even Pokemon that can't use Assist would still be useful if they have good moves that Assist can use. Drowzee is in the Human-Like Egg Group so If you want one with Assist you'd need a Spinda since they're in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so can breed with Purrloin and Drowzee. You could also use a Chimchar as a starter if you give it Assist as an Egg Move, They're also in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so a male one can breed the move into any Pokemon with Assist.
I'm curious about something. Some Nuzlockers, such as Chaotic Meatball, don't consider the game over until they beat the Champion Alder, meaning the E4 rematch. I know you don't do that, just curious on what you think, and if you might try it one of the days. It's kind of like the optional Steven fight in Emerald imo.
2 Layers of Toxic Spikes (toxic poison) is only more useful than 1 Layer (Poison) if the opponent survives for 4+ runs. The total damage from regular Poison beats Toxic Poison until then. So a single Layer can have a pretty good effect in battles with 3+ Pokemon.
Hey Mah Dry why don't you do the elite four rematch fights after the Ghetsis fight? You do that when you do Pokemon Gold runs and Emerald runs to face Red and Steven who are the post game final bosses. You know that you can fight them again, then you fight Alder as the post game final boss. He has Pokemon at level 75 though, so it's a brutal challenge.
