Having no idea what was waiting for me, I entered the Arena with my Favorite thrall... I left alone... bloodied and battered... I vowed revenge. Then came the rumors... The Champion was now dead... someone beat her to death with a sawed-off arm.
Well done Ana! Watching this battle brings on the bad memories from my fist encounter with the Arena Champion. Even after watching you defeat her before, I was STILL holding my breath watching this vid. To paraphrase the bard, "Oh I really hate the Areana Chamions A.. right now." Big Salute to Blyker who just helped me recover from my third Chapter 3 solo with her that ended when she auto-locked and changed direction in mid swing to add that extra attack to the double tap she's infamous for. Thank you Ana for your wonderfully entertaining content and World Famous Warcry- "Ahh!"
You can kill Arena Champion with any armor, since she has 100% armor pen, so any armor is like naked. And you can kill her even with stone daggers, all tou have to do is run around her and pray for no lag.
Noticed it as well. I think the update also screwed with hitboxes. Sometimes while fighting I run into an invisible wall and at times I am getting hit or hitting something that is clearly out of range.
This is great! Hmm, it would kinda make the challenge pointless, but I've heard you can pretty much keep her off her feet constantly? Or is that not true?
Nicely done but that's not a challenge. She's stuck in her slow combos, can be stunned and has not so large hitboxes. She's like a standard human NPC just with buffed damage and HP. No idea why are people so affraid of her :) Please try the same setup against Rotbranch and if you win, the second round with Rockslide :) For me they are the scariest dudes (in that order) in exiled lands. I can't even think of what they are capable of now after the broken combat update in aow chapter 3.
I think people are scared of he because she hits so hard. If someone is not at a skill level that you and Ana are at, or they have an older machine, slower internet and the like then the risk of getting destroyed is much higher. I played 2 years of Conan on a 10 year old computer, while I understood that I wasn't getting the experience of the actual game there were still things that I thought content makers made look 'so easy', stuff I just couldn't do. That said, it's only once in a while that I'll mess with a Rotbranch and never do I mess with the Rockslide.
Well, this is a perfect example why something must be done to the combat. Although I would rather see them making the enemies smarter and less predictable than overcomplicating the control system.
