This is all good advice. However I have to admit when I went in April 2022 I didn’t bring the original packaging for my pills or supplements and I had my pills in a multi day pill holder and I didn’t have any problems. It is good though to follow your advice though to avoid any problems.
I’ve never had any problems, either-I just want people who are worried to have all the tips to be safe, but yes, folks are probably fine doing what you did and having a multi-day pill holder. I use one of those myself, otherwise I can’t remember to take everything 😂!
Hi Gus, Really appreciate your awesome work. We are now more confident in visiting Egypt, just for you. Can you please make video on the best health insurance cover while visiting Egypt. I will be travelling with my parents who are over 60.
Thanks for your kind words! Health insurance coverage is a tricky topic, because it varies so widely depending on country, age, health conditions/why you need insurance, and more. I recommend talking to an insurance agent you trust and asking them to help you with this.
I want to plan a trip for the Summer Solstice 2025. But I am an almost hourly user of medical cannabis for a multitude of issues. I am still planning, regardless. I went in 1988 as part of a US Navy/ USO tour for 3 days, Stayed in the Le Meridien Cairo in the Presidential Suite in the penthouse. Went out in the middle of the night, alone, exploring, drinking Budweiser. When we visited Giza, I was able to crawl into one of the Queens Pyramids next to the Menkaure, and the inside looked brand new. Vivid bright colors. But I was forced to leave my Kodak 110 camera with a military-ish guy with automatic weapons.
I’ve always wanted to Visit Egypt 🇪🇬 but I am on Prescription Medication 💊 and I have Always Wanted to Know if You Can take Prescription Medication 💊 to Egypt 🇪🇬
I am a HUGE Star Trek fan...it's practically the only TV I watch (and I don't watch TV often)! I have not started SNW yet...still finishing up the current season of Discovery. I have also been watching the current seasons of Picard, and Prodigy, too (Janeway is my favorite, favorite, of ALL TIME!). Glad to hear you're a Star Trek fan!
If it is a medication that requires a prescription, I recommend not taking it unless you have a prescription. However, I am never checked for medications when I enter Egypt, so you may not have an issue. The most important thing is to only bring enough medication for your trip (if your trip is one week, don’t bring an entire month supply).
You’ll need to check with the policy and with the insurance company-look into insurance options online or talk to your local insurance agent and ask them. Policies vary widely based on where you’re from and what company you buy from. Insurance is not required to go to Egypt.
They might go through your luggage, just depends. Sometimes my luggage goes through a scanner at customs, and sometimes it does not. I have never been asked about my prescription medications though, although some people have told me they have been asked.

Hi Fatima, I have no idea about the Covid requirements to travel from India to Canada, but as for transferring terminals, I would recommend using the shuttle bus or walking. I would also recommend contacting EgyptAir directly because they will be able to help out the most. Best of luck! Gus
