I stray diluted essential oils on my face - can this effect my dog from inhaling what’s in the air? My room will smell pretty strongly of lavender, geranium & thyme after I’ve used them.
@nymphsandshepherds
@nymphsandshepherds 5 лет назад
@@xewa7951 seriously, would have to ask your vet. It is maintained that even diluted in the case of a vaporizer, inhalation can cause issues. The type is most important as what is safe for humans is traditionally not safe for animals as they metabolize things differently. Also, what is are for animals can be toxic to humans. Medications for heart issues are a great example as a six pound Chihuahua can take doses of furosemide that can be deadly to a six year old. Kenna spoke about the hydrocarbons found in some E.O. which do off gas because they are volatile in exposure to atmosphere and light. People tend to think that the scent is okay because they are all natural... However... Petroleum is technically at start a natural product that is refined. Gasoline for instance has loads of hydrocarbons that when inhaled are deadly. The science is all there just talk to your vet. www.foundanimals.org/essential-oils-toxic-pets/ Legally, everyone has to tell you to ask a vet... The dilution matters. The dog's, in particular, system matters. They can have asthma, allergies, and sensitivities just like humans. Lily in any dilution causes me severe respiratory issue. Your dog can't speak to tell you they hate it let alone they are having respiratory issue.
@nymphsandshepherds
@nymphsandshepherds 5 лет назад
@@xewa7951 also, don't freak out about knowledge. Just move forward with all the information you can obtain.
@nymphsandshepherds
@nymphsandshepherds 5 лет назад
@@xewa7951 plus, a good example showing the difference in an animal and humans processing hydrocarbons is miners and canaries. Carbon monoxide is not a hydrocarbon, but methane is a hydrocarbon. Canaries saved thousands of lives in the mining industry due to their faster metbolic processes that warned humans to get out.

Essential oils are not made to smell good, that's what they're used for nowadays. Keep in mind they've been used medicinally since around 3000bc, it's important to know which oils to use and how. Some oils can be taken internally but only ingest oils that are pure and un adulterated. Also it's very important that they are sourced from where they grow indigenously and not sourced on factory farms where they mono crop and deplete the complexity of the terpene profiles. Keep in mind if your paying under $10 for a bottle of essential oil it was not sustainably harvested and it was probably not grown in the proper climate. If you don't want to internalize them then just put them on your feet because your feet have the biggest pores in your body and when you put them on your feet they travel to every cell in your body within 20 min. The perfume companies extract esters from essential oils, which is the part of the essential oil that produces the smell, however also in those essential oils have a variety of unique chemical constituents which have tons of benefits. Terpenes exist in botanicals to keep the plants immune system healthy, and to protect the plant from diseases. They do the same thing for us when we consume them. The point of using essential oils is not to try to gain nutrients from them that you would get from fruits and vegetables. It's to take advantage of the extremely complex terpene profiles that are in these botanicals that you're not going to find and your fruits and vegetables at the grocery store. did you know that 10% of the botanicals found on Earth are capable of producing essential oils? Also when you consume black pepper oil that helps your body absorb the nutrients you get from whole foods. I find that way too many people are subjective when it comes to essential oils, they want to throw around their own opinions and repeat what they've heard from other people without being objective and doing their own research and learning the facts on both sides before they come to a conclusion. Just because a couple mlms gave mlms a bad name does not mean that all mlm's are bad. You need to look at the difference is between a pyramid scheme in an MLM. I have sources for everything I'm saying, sources that come from doctors and scientists. not your friend that thinks they know everything, when they're really just playing a game of telephone. The funny thing is is that most you people that think essential oils are so dangerous probably put tons of chemicals in your body everyday from the chewing gum, to the shampoo you put on your hair. But you don't think about that do ya.

lol aromatherapy is looked upon as only a perfume or topical/massage benefit in the west. Little is still known or talked about the benefits of inhalation or olfactory system. @twistedxvengeance
@twistedxvengeance 3 года назад
People take it lightly because they don't realize that plants are literally medicine. The difference between medicine and poison is in the dose. Pharmaceutical companies take parts of plants to make the medicines they have. An EO is a non blended version of that. Ingesting without proper research and knowing the side effects and dosage is insanely dangerous. I am a huge eo user and wouldn't ingest. Asprin is made from the bark of a willow tree.... this needs to be taught.

Don't injest essential oils. Use some common sense here and get herbals intended for comsumption. Tinctures are the concentrated versions. Tincture is the fancy word for extract. Like the vanilla extract we cook with, they do have alcohol. The alcohol will evaporate off if you use them for tea or cooking. If you're taking them as a medical remedy, you can by pass the alcohol and horrible taste of the herb by putting the drops in a gelatin capsule. Of course this has to be done and taken immediately. Works like a charm! The herb I take as a medical remedy has been made for the eye dropper to be one dose. I suggest buying them made this way. The lavender I put in tea only notes its concentration. Starting with one drop, you'll quickly find the recipe that works for you.

How do those oil diffusers work if you’re dropping essential oils in water?

Purrs ASMR they use ultrasonic impulses and the particles it emits are so small that it’s GRAS and is regarded as safe by all the industry professionals :)

I used to have a diffuser, and now I'm wondering if all it did is coat my lungs in oil...and what about the ones with candles warming the oil for smell? Would you consider any of those safe at all? Thanks a lot for doing this series, really good information to know

Amyeha NAHA, AIA and the industry professionals all condone diffusion and there is no science showing that diffusion is harmful to the body, specifically the mucous membranes.

Do you know how many people die from taking pharmaceutical drugs prescribed by their doctors? I don't see many people freaking out about that in these comments. Essential oils are safe if you take them the right way, with carrier oils.

Thank you very much for your information :-) I watched a video where a girl put a pinch of sea salt in the bottom of a glass or stainless steel cup. Then fill it with water and put one drop essential oil LAVENDER in it to drink? It made sense to me. I tried it. There was no burning. Why do you think?

I am drinking different essential oils every morning and it is super healthy. But the thing is in the USA they get away with selling you fake and diluted oils while claiming to be the real deal. Those can be bad. You need to get the oils that are for food flavoring.

What E.Oil are you using it looks like a generic kind that is not 100% pure. The ones you buy like the one you had is mixed with a carrier oil like Almond, Canola etc..that is the main reason your oil formed "globules". And makes it cheaper to buy. Just curioius? Do you have a chemistry or biology degree?

@mommabear2544 5 лет назад
MrPo022 oregano oil is a "hot oil"... In other words it will burn like ****. I have done that to myself. Never helped with a cold but surprisingly it works well for cold sores. Still has to be mixed with a good amount on carrier oil, like coconut oil. It will burn the digestive tract as well!

Yeah I looked at the bottle I use and it is in a carrier oil (olive oil) so I am assuming it is ok when it is? I usually use the oregano oil at the first signs of a cold or even if my anyone around me gets sick I will take it as a percussion. Oregano oil and ginger are my only cures so far so if that is out then any suggestions?

2 things for vet pets yet include cats and if you live in a tiny apartment you can smell more Aroma so I suggestion use in a diffuser where pets will not reach there and concern there. Kids, if you have kids it might be sensitive to them you can get Plant therapy kidsafe blend where it will lower of formula for kids. Lastly, if you allergic sensitive do not recommend to smell it!

Being an MLM product is irrelevant. WalMart and Target sell things that aren’t good for you either. And you’re talking about a few cases in millions of people that use these products with NO adverse events. Tylenol has more adverse events than these products each year. Do your own research people.
