Tackling the "To Do List" one item at a time and discovering that I never get as much done as what I'd hope. A day in the life of Dig Drive DIY.

Neil, another great video. Once again, a walk down memory lane. I can remember being out in the shop working on a project and turn around and see 3 little Indians staring at me and wanting me to change my priorities. Anything from getting the go carts started, even before I had a chance to start a lawn mower, to making a portable basketball hoop on wheels with adjustable height so you could pull it over to the neighbor boys and have a hard game of slam dunk and maybe even a set of num chucks (your mother wasn't happy about this one). As I think back now I can't remember the projects that I was working on, but I do remember the ones that came first. As to the name of meals, the noon meal has ways been dinner (and the last meal has always been the same as Jesus had., the last supper) Dad

Thanks Dad. This is obviously where the influence comes from for me. I can remember all those times you've remembered, out there bugging you in the shop. I can also remember that everytime we got the first 1/2" of snow on the ground you were out there getting snowmobiles running cause we just couldn't wait. Until I figured out how to get them running on my own, in which case you'd get home from work on a snow day to a lot of fresh tracks in the yard! But, you always had time to build or fix or assist. Actually, you still do all that on a weekly basis! Thanks for that :) Supper of sure around here.

Hey Neil - I really enjoyed watching you spend your Saturday. I live in Canberra, Australia and have a very different life to you, but when it comes down to it, the challenges are the same for everyone, we just have different chess pieces. You'll always have stuff to do, but one day you'll turn around and your girls will have all grown up. It looks like you're really enjoying these years with them - you're all so lucky to have each other.

Neil, you never cease to amaze. I do have a suggestion/recommendation about your drain lines for your sump pump set up. Personally, I would have installed a one-way valve above the cutoff valve to keep water and whatever else from back flushing into the cutoff valve. Yes, I over think stuff too, just like my dad taught me. >>>Can't wait to see the new to you kitchen cabinets get installed! That's going to be a great set of videos! >>>It makes me kind of sad to know that "Brutus" will be giving up his "heart" as a donor for "Bill." I love both tractors and really don't want to see either of them down, but it isn't up to me and you have to do what is right in your situation. >>>The gas overflow.... Yeah, what can be said about that? Possibly have the overflow run into another tank below? I saw that you had two tanks there but what I don't know is if they are the same type of fuel or is one gas and the other is diesel. >>>Dude, night owl much? Sleep is kind of important so you don't forget little things, like keys, LOL! >>>Mice in the mini excavator.... Plug any holes into the cab with steel wool or spray foam insulation. >>>Unwanted raccoon visitors in the wood shed. Yeah, the tops of the walls aren't closed off so until you solve that little conundrum anything can take up temporary residence until the weather gets warmer. The dormers need to be closed off too. Hardware fabric is great for this unless you have scrap wood available. Installation is going to be a pain in the butt, but well worth it. Personally, I'd use both. Wood to close the dormers/tops of the walls and then cover all of it with the hardware fabric so they can't chew a new access hole to get in up there. The walls could use a covering of hardware fabric too for the same reason, after you have burned up all of the wood that's in the way. >>>Love the cats!!! I thought you only had the one pretty grey and white beauty. Oh well, the other two must get camera shy unless bribed with food. >>>So what if your videos are late! $h!t happens my friend. "Don't sweat the small stuff, because it's all small stuff."< direct quote from my hubby who is from Muncie, IN. >>>Time spent with the twins and family is always time well spent. I'm pretty sure you have figured this out, but here is a reminder anyway. Thanks for another great video! Talking to your camera "Off the Cuff" takes practice. No one get's that right the first few times attempted. Keep up the great work you do. P.S. Don't forget to change the oil in the dump truck and fill that fuel tank 🥰🥰

Once again...you and I are alike...meaning I have a list of chores but get sucked into other things mostly involving kids or my wife but at the end of the day...a pleasure nonetheless. Fyi, I don't consider that a mini excavator by today's standards lol. I am from Kentucky originally so we called it supper. But, living in Michigan for the past several years I have been corrected enough to call it dinner. HA!

Day in the life videos are a lot of fun Neil. Never underestimate what you see as boring and mundane, not being truly interesting to others. What's the saying? "One persons junk is another's..."? Salient points: 1. Kara is boss. 2. When in doubt, see item 1. 3. That raccoon you are going to catch will make a perfect remedy for mouse eviction in the excavator. 4. Kara is boss. 5. Sushi and nachos? 6. Two episodes of "Little House"? (Dude, we gotta talk! ). Remember to set you clocks forward tonight as you are up editing videos again!!! (Right). Love home my brother and will be anxiously awaiting the next epic from Koch Productions!!!

Neil another great video. Another walk down memory lane. I can remember being out in the shop working on the project and turn around and there would be three little Indians staring at me wanting to do work on their priority projects. Whether it would be getting a go-kart running before I had a chance to even start a mower, or making a portable basketball hoop with the adjustable height so you can pull it over to the neighbor boys and have a hard game of slam dunk or maybe even a set of num chucks, that might not have been the best idea. I don't remember now what projects that I was working on, but I do remember the ones that came first. One last thing, as far as the name for the meals of the day, the noon meal has always been dinner and the evening meal if I remember right Jesus had one of them I think it was the Last Sipper

Neil, I know how much work it takes to put a video like this one together. So many great shots and as always, you are an excellent story teller. I love that you include your family so much and hope you are all doing very well. Keep it up and thank you for all the effort behind the scenes also. - Sam

Oil of peppermint works great for me to deter the rodents. Great vids. Luv the time with the kids. Making memories there that will last a lifetime. Be safe!

Evening mealtime is "dinner" at my house. (Montana/Alaska) And yep, 15% of the weekend to-do lists ever get done. 75% eventually get done. (25% must just go away??)

Enjoyed the video, nice to see I'm not the only one who doesn't finish a list of stuff to do on day off. Always something to keep you from getting done.

The evening meal has always been Supper. Breakfast was early, or after morning chores. Lunch was maybe at 9:15 AM and at 3:30 PM and Dinner was at Noon. If that sounds wrong, then a WHOLE bunch of 'Hollanders' around here got it wrong for decades. 😂

I use Fox Pee scent cover on cotton balls to repel any type of rodent. Rats, mice, squirrels in the attic... It's a predator/prey ting. You can buy it at a sporting goods store in the hunting section. Replace cotton balls every few months. Works for me. Good video BTW.

Thanks! Is it stinky? Would be worth a shot.

It smells if you try to smell it, but on a cotton ball in the attic or crawl space or garage, I have never noticed it after putting it out. It is not as pungent as some other scents, but closed up in the cab of a tractor might be a little more noticeable.
