I would like to know why our system allows the police to keep this information if the charge is withdrawn, it seems like your penalized twice. Would that not be worth taking to the supreme court?

Is this not another example of excessive police powers without due process, ie. no contacts orders that are for an extended period of time for non-violence and no judge ever ruling on it? Especially when end result was lesser than the police penalty.

Yes but what if the court orders you to provide a sample of your DNA upon conviction.

How cooperative are the Kawartha Lakes OPP on a domestic violence where it was put on the record that no criminal offence was committed whatsoever that resulted in a withdrawn charge and peace bond?
