I have been practicing in the DRL drone simulator for a few months now and I have finally decided to get the DJI FPV drone. This video is to see how well my skills will transfer to the real drone.
That's awesome! I'm on 30 hours of sim time atm. Been wondering how the sim relates to fpv because, like you said, it doesn't feel real being able to fly so fast in the sim. Good to know!
sim and real life is quite different imo. I flew the dji fpv liftoff sim for 30 hours, then flew my dji fpv in acro for first time. It was quite a bit different, specially the drone drifting and feeling heavier IRL.. I imagine some of that is attributable to wind. IRL it's not as easy to line up for things.
I agree 100%, I didn't even realize wind gusts were a thing until I flew the real drone. And yeah even though the simulations have gotten better they still all feel a little "floaty" with the gravity acceleration. I also saw your 3 recent videos and great flying in them! Keep up the great work I'm excited to see more videos!
Most of my first 50 hours of practice was using just an Xbox controller. Then I used the controller that came with the DJI fpv drone after I got that. It only took a few more hours to adjust to the new controller. The DJI controller is definitely better at making smaller adjustments than the Xbox controller was
My only problem as a beginner is dji fpv drone is too heavy for manuel hovering and landing. Throttle response againist this drones weight is not enought and pulling it down fast. Then i build my own 5" 4S quad i do fly and hovering like pro. I think this drone require more skills than blueprint drone to fly full manuel mode.
I'm not into racing, do you have any other simulators that you use? I have an Avata but currently fly with the motion controller. I recently got a v2 controller. Trying to learn with this setup,
Hmm I’m not sure which ones work with the motion controller. Even if you aren’t into racing you can use the free fly mode to just practice flying around. Another good option to look at would be velocidrone and liftoff , I think one of those have modes where you can practice skills like tracking moving objects which is good if you are planning on filming with them
i bought liftoff but closes in my slow pc (crash), but the fpv freerider recharged works good, anybody knows how to match the physics close to avata and dji rc 2... tnx!
