What if you own a vacation rental with your SDIRA and you’re over 59.5 years old, can you then use it for personal use?

Good question! Unfortunately not though. If a property is in your IRA, the IRS still considers it an investment, even after 59.5 yrs old, and not available for personal use.

What if it's an ex-spouse (divorced)?

No, you can't live in a home owned by your IRA, even if it's an ex-spouse's residence. IRA rules prohibit any personal use of the property by the IRA owner or disqualified persons, which includes spouses, ex-spouses, and other immediate family members.
