Please don't use MPU5060, they drift quite a lot! It's an old chip and crappy compared to what we have now like BNO055, BNO085. Adafruit made a comparaison of imu's and the mpu 5060 is the worst. Otherwise, looking forward to see the next episodes!

That's good to know. I'm actually using the MPU-9250. The VESC I'm using uses the same pins for UART (TX/RX) as it does for i2C (SDA/SCL). Luckily I found some obscure video that explained that. I was trying to use the other connector which had pins labeled CLK and DIO and it wasn't working. This is a bummer because I was hoping to use a UART Bluetooth module to stream realtime data to my phone. I can't do that because the UART pins are in use by the IMU! Ugh.

Hi!... I have watched one of your videos and am currently watching this one, in part or full. I am happy that you are an engineer by trade. I am an Electronics Technologist, but that is just for background information, no more. I noticed you are using solder for some crucial areas, where a large amount of current is drawn. I am certain that in some projects you have undertaken, you have witnessed cables getting hot or even burned. Regrettably, there is always a risk associated with these creations. While we know the project works and the formule may be used in some areas to create a good design, I must share with you that our knowledge can be limited in some areas, this is where experience comes into place. Sometimes, the solder will melt at high temperature/current drawn and the cable insulation may melt (a better insulation choice is the answer, but you know that already) but when the solder melts, this is when crimping and lugs playva role, this is where you can bennefit the most, so I thought I should mention it. Keep up the great work!

I think those bullet connector solder joints are going to fail over time with vibration. I'd consider crimping instead - far more reliable.
