Craziest & hardest mass start mountain bike race I have ever done! Megavalanche in Reunion Island was a challenge of bike, body, and mind! Check out the full race run, complete with commentary and live position counter!
I love the amount of confidence and strength you need to do this and just the arrogance of narrowly overtaking people but then complaining when it happens to you.well done.
@@benher6934 it was around the 29 minute mark. they were on a wide trail but someone still came past him in the most difficult way possible. Nearly took each other out by making such a move.
The captions throughout are really useful thanks 👍🏻; I wish other people did this too when they post full race videos, it really helps with understanding the experience.
34:26 - the sky and horizon during this section just looks surreal. Beautiful. Thanks for the video and the captions! The captions added a lot to the immersion.
That was intense I couldn’t even see what we were doing, but just the sound effects and everything else and the screeching of the brakes… it’s your blind friend from Tucson Arizona enjoying your videos…21 isn’t bad after how many people started. That’s really good proud of you.❤❤❤
Good that there's no loud music or anything, just listening to you working hard which makes one appreciate it even more because you loose so much of it if you just throw some music over. Then you get all the ambient noises as well which adds to the immersion.
I love watching these races and my preferred viewing position is full screen with my face about 1 1/2 feet away from the screen. You really get that 1st person feel.
This is an excellent watch, love the moments when you drift out and manage to recover. Being right on the edge of it for such a sustained period of time… that is damn hard work. Big well done, be proud of that one.
ive watched loads of "mega avalanche"stuff, but the difference the commentary and the on screen positioning makes on this upload takes it to the next level. ta
That was a great watch! I watched the video from the winner - Olivier I think?? - and it was cool but he was in front the whole way and it was kinda boring. This had spills, thrills, chills and ACTION!! Congrats on your effort - I can only imagine how difficult that is. Respect!
All I can say is WOW!! This is the the first time I have seen anything like this. How on earth did the bike survive this, let alone you for 45minutes, RESPECT BRO!!
Love this! Love the format, love the comments, love the lack of music so I get a real feel for the sounds and overall rush of what this might be. Awesome job!
It must be really difficult to play catch-up, when you're unsure how far behind you might be. Your videos keep getting better and better. These races you participate in are incredibly interesting to see from a first-hand point-of-view.
I hope you had plenty of Rougail Saucisse! I lived here for 2 years. I immediately thought "wait... is this race starting at Maido? It is! Absolutely surreal seeing my favorite place in the world on a video like this.
This puts you up there with Killian Bron and Stefan Peter. Well, maybe not all the way up there. Killian is the only rider I’ve seen start in last place and finish first. That ride looked punishing.
Congratulations it was a exceptional race! Yes: the Technik is the tactic! Must wait for the end of "the mass effect", then waiting & catching the wide ranges Congratulations! You were extraordinary! The scene in the forest is my favourite! You were able to spare your energy until the end + firmly keeping the track in the rumble! Thank you for the sharing! It's inspiring.
My friend, thank you for giving us that beautiful, great descent, the place where you were walking down at full speed? A pleasure brother, thank you, truly from the bottom of my heart for such beautiful landscapes, it is very appreciated to see a video that transports you and makes you feel part of it. Great, brother, a giant hug.👊🏼
And yes the captions gave me an insight to what's going through your mind! I don't mountain bike but this gives me a big enough rush that I'd rather watch you do this. It actually feels like a virtual reality game. I'll just sit on my bike in front of my wide-screen lol!!
This is some of the craziest biking I've ever seen, but it looks like so much fun. I wish that we had this around when I was a kid, I definitely would've loved to had done this at least 1 in my life. But I gotta say that these guys definitely got a lot of balls to do this it looks like it takes a ton of stamina, concentration, and definitely preparation just to even attempt something of this magnitude.
To me it seems like each decision, each calculation, and each turn can have a good outcome or a very deadly outcome. Huge respect to all of the riders who participate in such events. Takes a lot more than steel nerves alone.
Captions added an extra element, but I wish you cleaned the camera lens more often ;) Kidding it's great to have a clean lens... I was thinking it was actually incredible how often you were able to take a hand off to clean it! Great video :)
Man . . . When i watch this im just like one little mistake flying through those trees and thats a broken limb for sure . . . Props to you my man absolutly killing it !
💪 Great run! You need a bigger chainring next year 😅! I’m on a 34. Last year I even used a 36. Perfect for the fast sections. The same for Alpe d’Huez.
I seldom watch long video's mad respect to you your stamina and riding skill is top level you passed 40 people definitely gonna subscriber to your channel
I had a friend from Reunion teach me how to cook curry from the isle. Chicken and tomatoes, flavoured with chili, ginger, garlic, turmeric, smoked bacon and thyme. Bloody lovely, you deserve a very large bowl I think 🥘
