Yeah, hindsight is 20/20 on this one. Maybe it would have been better if I placed them on the MLB team they played on in a future real-life season. How do you handle this stuff during that era?
@@baseballdreamland9923 I usually do a yearly draft even if it is not historical. You can also do it where they're assigned to their real teams but that is super hard mode trying to beat the Yankees (though would make an interesting playthrough with the White Sox) I don't think the game can really replicate the system of independent minor leagues that existed in real life the way it is currently set up. One other cool thing about doing a draft is you get the Negro League and PCL players entering the drafts so they can play in the majors like they should have (as long as you keep the color barrier setting off).
@Iridescence93 thanks, that’s helpful. If I could do it all over again, maybe a free agent draft at the start would’ve been a good option to place all those guys. I’m actually going to use that feature in my next save that involves expansion teams. I think it’s a bummer that the game can’t make the pre-1965 rookie process work though.
@@baseballdreamland9923 that's another option yes. lots of stuff you can do. I'm not sure how the game handles the modern players coming in from Japan but you could probably adopt something like that to handle the pre-1940s minor leagues as there are some similarities with how it worked.
@@Iridescence93 funny you say that. I’ve never played a multi-season save in the present day as the GM of an MLB club, so I have no idea how good the posting process is.
