Not just that, these cars are really important for society. Not everyone can afford a new car or if they can, drowning in a car payment can keep you from working your way up. A car like this would be perfect for a teen or young adult just joining the workforce, or someone down on their luck needing cheap transportation to get around to a job or wherever and provide for themselves or family.

@@scootytamra Oh yeah, any car can last a long time if properly maintained. I meant that cars back in the 1990s weren't built with as many standard safety features or technology as a car from today would. And the engines were less computerized and forced induction was still a rare thing to see on cars, so they were less economical. However with simplicity, comes reliability. Less things that can break!

It makes me so happy to see another J-Body saved from the crusher. These are fantastic cars, very cheap but reliable. Their main downfall is the rear frame rails but you really can’t beat these old units. That 2.2 pushrod engine is literally bulletproof, I’d even go as far as to compare it to an Inline 6 engine in a Jeep. Too often people destroy these things just because they need a little work and they are disappearing at an alarming rate. This video made my day though to see this car get saved. Great job my friend.😄

This car brings me back to my childhood. So many people had these, they were cheap, abundant, great on gas and damn near bulletproof. You could run down to the junkyard and there'd probably be like 20 of these things with any part you could need. Wasn't uncommon to see these pushing 400,000km as they were the perfect highway cruisers. Most of them have rotten away to nothing at this point and the few still on the road are really clapped out now. This is one of the best I've seen in a long time.

This was the first of your videos I've seen in a good while, and I'm glad I caught this one. It's really special - my parents owned a '99 Chevy Cavalier, which is this car with different lights and bumpers. Bought new, did about twice as many miles as this pontiac, and soldiered on with no complaints. The seats weren't always the most comfortable, it wasn't very quick or fun in the corners, the interior plastics would've been more appropriate for a Fisher-Price toy... but it was a solid, economical, cheap family car. It took me home from grade school, took my mom to work, the family on road trips, the weekly grocery run, my sister learned to drive in it, I did the same. In all that time, while we tried to keep it clean, it never once in its life received this level of detailing. This video was a 28 minute long trip down memory lane, and from all of us that grew up in the back seat of one of these humble little "disposable" sedans: Thank you for helping to save this one.

My goodness…..nice job. My husbands mom had this same type of car. The starter motor went out and my husband nearly had to dismantle the engine to put a new one in. Crazy days back then !!!!!

Great transformation, Mitch! I could, absolutely, see Lord Mike putting on a new pair of Vessi's and driving that Sunfire!😁

I'm liking the variety in music lately. This one almost feels a little retro to fit the old car.

What a frickin blast from the past! This car was one of the two that, to me, is the quintessential high school girl car, or the car your friend's older sister had (the other one being a Dodge Neon lol) What a great job! Between this and the N Sync reunion, I feel like I've gone back in time to 2000 lol

Dodge (or Plymouth) Neon...oh the HORROR! Engineers behind those stinkers should return their engineering degrees.

I completely forgot about these cars, as you just don't see them anymore. I am really surprised at how good of shape it's in for being a northern car. Here in the states, they were all rusted out while they were still fairly new. Although in nice condition, there is such a low demand for these cars, I don't know if he will get much more than what he paid for it
